Your team v Warriors

Ok it's Hodgo, apologies.

No one is saying he had a stella game, but he contained his opposite number Suli - which is no easy task. He will hold Kata at bay as well.

Let's not cloud the issue here - if you drop someone in the backline because they didn't have a good game…..

Then that name is JENNINGS.

Looks unfit, dropped a few kicks and seemed very slow. The only thing he had going for him was a bit of height. Get Thommo a pogo stick and problem solved.

I agree mate Jennings should be first to go but like i mentioned i think madge likes him. Hopefully he follows his form is everything philosophy

I will be gutted if Thompson is dropped. Let's just win the ruck and limit their opportunities to kick to the wings.

Thompson was best on field and Really epitomises the Wests Tigers Culture of punching above your weight.

ALL IN.

He needs to be in the 17 somewhere each week, even at the expense of Josh Reynolds if necessary.

There is a lot to like about the way the team played last week in foul conditions and against a poor opponent. The Forwards were very encouraging.

1\. Mbye
2\. Jennings
3\. Momo
4\. Marsters
5\. Fonua
6\. Marshall
7\. Brooks
8\. Twal
9\. Farah
10\. Matulino
11\. Garner
12\. Matterson
13\. ET
14\. Aloai
15\. Packer
16\. Mikalele
17\. MCK

Thompson was great at fullback but we need some size against the back 3 of the Warriors. If Mbye is fit we will need him as the forecast is for a dry weather game.

Ideally Reynolds/Liddle is our 17 but it seems Madge wants to move on from Grub and Liddle hasn’t set the world on fire.

Seems pretty well a consensus that Jennings was poor and Thompson deserves a spot this weekend, regardless of the captain playing or not. Unlike most, I would rather target their pack with additional speed rather than strength, which three forwards on the bench will provide and see rotation of the nine as the means. If it is going to be wet, sure, Farah showed that he can still handle that scenario.

Bit harsh on Jennings. First game for us in conditions that didn't suit outside backs. Jennings on one wing, Thompson on the other is our best combination imo.

x2

thompson was excellent at fullback, he seemed natural, and he has seemed to have improved since last season. If fonua blake hadnt tripped thompson, during that game, thompson would have been easily away for a 100 metre try

The big thing is we can’t keep chopping and changing for short term benefit. It hurts later in the season when other teams build combinations. It’s a major reason we fell off last year. We have the squad to stick solid with the players we believe are the best.

The interesting question is are Nofa, Reynolds in our top 17 even if fit. Lawrence also coming back with Garner rapidly improving. Liddle hasn’t improved yet to the level to push Farah.

We have serious depth but no game breakers.

Fonua was one of our best. You can't drop him. Jennings was ordinary. It's an easy decision.

Elijah Taylor .. ?? Did he give us anything on the weekend .. or the last season .. ?? to say that we need him .. ?? Im struggling to fit him in our starting 17 .. !!

My pack would look like this: Matulino - Farah - Twal - Garner - Matterson - Eisenhuth .. and on the bench i would have Mikaele - Aloiai - Packer

If Josh Aloiai plays all year like he did on the weekend he might find himself a starting spot .. but personally i believe he gives more as an impact player off the bench 20 or 30 mins into the game.

If there are any changes for this weeks game it will only be if Mbye if fit, Thompson to wing and maybe Fonua to the be the 4th member on the bench.

I disagree. The conditions made it hard for outside backs. Put him on a dry track and see how he goes. I have a lot of confidence in the Jennings signing and I think he'll be our number 1 winger by seasons end.

That's what i was trying to say. It's hard to criticise everyone that didn't play very well because it was very wet, slippery and the first game. Even the great Bwaiff Anasta woulda tripped up. Oh, wait, he trips up in the best conditions, my bad

Maybe you are right but not based on the last up performance. Madge should pick on performance.

Fonua was good, I dunno if you watched the Warriors game but their wingers wreaked havoc against Canterbury and they scored a few tries from out-jumping the dogs wingers. Fonua is horrendous under the high ball at the best of times. The Warriors big tall wingers will have a day out with Fonua dropping back.
