A slap in the face for Maguire, who gave him a shot and talked him up to fans.
Without knowing how close they are, cant see how he could possibly have any faith left in him.

We're obviously going to lose this guy, so my question is, will the club be signing anyone to replace him? He was bought for a good reason, to strengthen our pack and fill a void that we have up front, so that void will still be there unless we sign a replacement. Anyone with ties to the club have any idea if we might be looking at someone else?

You don't hand yourself into police without doing something….

Precisely.

Yes you do.

Generally the police will phone you and say there is a warrant for your arrest, and please hand yourself in if it isn’t a serious crime (murder) or you’re considered a flight risk.

if you don’t police will turn up at work, church, grandmas or wherever is worse and put you in handcuffs. If there is a warrant for your arrest, turn yourself in and don’t hide from it.

So this happened 3 weeks ago, before he signed with us?
We Don't have details of the incident but from the sounds of it a drunk man groped a woman in a pub. Now of course I don't remotely condone that sort of behaviour. But if the incident was similar to this he won't be sacked. The club may have even known about it when they signed him.
We need aggressive players. I don't want a team of nice mannered choir boys. I want a team that wins. Successful clubs have no qualms signing these sort of players. If it was a serious crime then by all means feed him to the wolves

Based on what you say players like Lawrence and Matterson would not be wanted in your team.

Perfect fit for the Sharks with their all DH policy

Agree, the key is to be the club that can turn them around. The Roosters and what they managed with Zane Tetevano is the perfect example.

Zane Mustgo

Process to follow, but things don't look good. I can't believe that our club signed this bloke with baggage if in fact this is the case. You'd think that no stone would be left un-turned prior to signings these days.

Just once, I'd love an off season without drama

Your second sentence is incorrect.

Lol watching too many American cop shows!

Disappointing all round really.

Listening to Helmsey's and Ed's poddy this morning and they nailed it in terms of the opportunity afforded and he may have well blown it before he's even taken a hit up.

The other obvious issue is the wider issue of attitudes toward women. Some of these blokes have a seriously inflated sense of self value, couple that with money, too much time on their hands and everyone telling them they are all that and stuff like this will happen.

It is not a secret that domestic violence is prevalent in Australia and society is becoming fed up with it, and it has been highly publicised by organisations like White Ribbon, sporting partners like the NRL, politicians and high profile survivor-advocates like Rosie Batty. You couldn't avoid it even if you tried, I mean there is a campaign at the moment with NRL players, so when an NRL player gets caught up in a sexual assault or domestic violence issue, they can't exactly plead ignorant.

In any case, since he has not been found guilty of any crime I'll refrain from hanging him yet. This is just a commentary on players in general. Quite frankly the NRL needs to saddle up and start bouncing blokes from the game who are found guilty of violence or assault against women. Still baffles me that Rob Lui was allowed to register with North QLD after belting his missus two years straight.

I just read an article were it says, the incident was on the 24 Nov 18 .. I think he was with us then .. ?? but interesting though the article also says .. "but since Musgrove’s **Tigers contract is not yet registered**, it’s currently not a matter for the governing body to investigate."

My guess is that his contract won't be registered by the NRL and therefore he won't be coming to us.

Agree with your post CB,however after reading many other posts about Musgrove in this situation with sexual assault or otherwise toward a woman in this particular case, many have missed a very important area …the children who idolise the NRL players....
\
\
Guilty or not Zane must understand as all others in his position, the children look up to these people and we must be careful not to send out the wrong message...its well and good to protect the women from these types and what he and many others have done in the past will not be tolerated, however if he is proven guilty he must not be given the opportunity to play in the NRL...No matter his ability or what the club needs to strengthen the pack or whatever position,he has forfieted that right by committing this indiscretion....

I dont know if he is guilty, however if he is then the penalty should be severe so as to deter these actions by others and show the children how wrong it is to do these sort of things within our society and to treat women with respect and have some dignity about yourself...just my opinion CB.....

If your children are idolising Rugby League players ..your doing it wrong..

If children are into rugby league the only way to stop them them idolising rugby league players is to put an embargo on them to stop watching rugby league. Not possible.

Bingo.

We have him. He is on our books and we have signed a contract.

We should discipline him and see if he can change his ways.
There is a difference between a pattern of behaviour and an incident. Lets give him a chance to reform.
