18-year-old charged with common assault occasioning bodily harm.

Chee Kam was charged with common assault (google the difference).

Believe it or not, investigating officers first on the scene often charge all parties involved (guilty or not) until they've had their day in court. The presumption of innocence is old 'lore, often seen in feel-good movies.

Putting pressure on a co-defendant to build a case is common practice. Its seen as a deterrent as well (personal/public shame, the process of going to court) etc. Police often bank on 1 of the accused to tell-all, which allows for successful prosecution, because often times, the case is weak, or, witnesses statements conflict 1 another & there is no CCTV to confirm nor deny the allegations…

This is how it goes down. @swag_tiger

Not sure, but given that there is CCTV footage of the incident that led to Musgrove & Coleman, why hasn't Toddy handed down a penalty?

Due process and potential criminal proceedings do not come into it. If there is video, the NRL should act immediately as they have done with Wighton and Barba.

He pleaded not guilty if I'm not mistaken. If that's the case one would assume that the CCTV would be in his favour.

So why is his contract not being registered

I don't know. I'd say it's pending the outcome in court. He hasn't been stood down from club duties and is still training with the squad, so that's a positive sign.

Is MCK in the same situation with the club?

It is my opinion only that if the club thought that the weight of evidence was damming that he would have been let go awhile back.

Fingers crossed that justice is done whatever the outcome is.

Does anybody know the time frame for deciding whether either, or both, MCK and Musgrove are found able to continue to play NRL with Wests Tigers again. I am concerned that even if they are found not guilty the decision may be delayed to the extent that we would hardly get much game time from them in 2019 and the club has wasted their 2019 CAP expenditure on them.

They haven't been stood down or suspended so not sure what you mean…both are training business as usual

Wests Tigers have today announced the signing of Zane Musgrove for the coming three years.

The new agreement will see Musgrove join Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2021 NRL season.

@Cultured_Bogan according to this release from Wests Tigers ..Yes..there were reports in the media that his contract was yet to be registered with the NRL but to my knowledge the Club has never confirmed or denied that..

Question .. what's this I have heard that Manly and Saints will be handed the salary cap money back for both Walker and De Belin if they should be stood down .. ?? If so is there any talk that we will have our money handed back for the purchase of Musgrove .. ?? I've heard that he has been stood down by the NRL, and that his contract has not been registered by the NRL, yet I see him in our photo's from time to time. Does anyone know what's going here with Zane .. ?? The NRL has really got them selves into a pickle with the handling of these cases.

Expect inconsistency from Toddles in everything he does. About the only thing i can guarantee is he is not writing a reference for Musgrove to take to court

Musgrove won’t be registered - back to 29 players.
With a cap penalty for two years won’t be able to sign a decent name player.
