Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interesting how some would give a chance to a convicted sex offender, that just came out of jail, but try to mention Falau, that Voldemort's word 🤔!
I smell a rat that he got in trouble in the US then again in Oz. I also think he comes across as very arrogant. Not the player I want but I'm not a judge.
One thing i can remember telling both my daughters, if you act like a lady, hang out in nice places and associate with nice people you are more likely to be treated as a lady.
Hanging around drunk people who are high on testosterone can lead to trouble.
I hope the victim is ok but girls you need to learn from this. IMO.

Geez if anyone is serious about Hayne joining they have rocks in their head.
How would he add anything to our side?
He hasn't played for what 4yrs +let alone been in training, is what 34 as well?

We have changed the image and have started to create a successful off field culture at the club - bringing in someone like Hayne would take us back a very long way. He wouldn't drive excellence or wins on the board that's for sure. We don't need him in any shape or form.

Besides which we took a punt on BJ which failed, we have another punt project in JTJ on a min contract and we also took a punt on Gildart. How many punt players do we need in our backline.

Or we could teach our sons that testosterone is no excuse and that they should respect others and especially those of a gender that are generally physically inferior to them.

And of course to ask and respect the answer and certainly not to bite unless asked to do so.

Absolutely, there are no winners in this only hearbreak.
I have, as you said, taught my two sons the same thing, respect!
The sad reality though is this;
No matter how much you educate our boys, some of them at some stage in their life, fuelled with alcohol and testosterone could assault someone. There are a lot of men, who were once labelled model citizens, in jail who are regretting and sorrowful for what crime they've committed.
My point is you have to limit the exposure to this sort of crime from happening.
Don't put yourself at risk, and men, don't treat women as objects.

Very wise, common sense advice.

After three trials (including Hayne's successful appeal) I just can't see the DPP agreeing to spend even more taxpayer dollars on a retrial. She'd also have to consider the likely impact on the young lady complainant of having to go through the whole thing again. Even so, Hayne's NRL race is done.

Re Jarryd Hayne...
I have a problem with Hayne in that the trial process has been stuffed up. The Judge was pretty damning along with the testimony. While the appellate court upheld that it wasn't a valid trial, the substance of the trial though hasn't been corrected though only instructions from a Judge.

Not touching him with a 10" pole.

Ofcourse it could be a setup, we don't know. We don't need that drama while somewhere like Parramatta or the Dogs may be better able to handle that.

As a player, hey he is younger then Benji and still would have something to offer. He was always skill over training effort though. We saw how Cooper Cronk and SBW lifted Easts, i can see Hayne having that effect on a team but I can see Hayne being lazy at training not pushing others. If we did not hire Starford Toa, Hayne would be a good reserve back, playing wise don't need him.

Person wise don't want him.
I assume that is a spelling mistake.

I hate to tell you, but rapists can pretend to be "nice" people. I'm pretty sure Hayne has been to more nice places than I ever have.

It is unlikely that the list will be changed or added to this close to the Season.

Do we actually have any spots available for any mid season recruitment.???
