You think WS Uni would have the cash to build it? They have been cutting staff like crazy and are not posting anything close to a profit.G'day @TheDaBoss
There was an article in the local Campbelltown paper recently which suggested the long promised and talked about Sports Academy [part of the local university] may now be attached to Our Campbelltown Home...Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
And being part of the university, I can imagine it being bigger and better than our soon to be opened COE at Concord.
the village called...But there is sun at those stadiums. Best we just move to marvel
When someone before mentioned the barber shop for Pascoe I was thinking it was a jokeTigers eye permanent move back to spiritual homes at Leichhardt, Campbelltown
From the SMH
Wests Tigers have started talks about playing all home games at their spiritual homes at Leichhardt and Campbelltown.
Considered rugby league nomads in recent seasons after using several home venues, including five grounds this year, there is now a push to permanently base themselves in suburbia and establish a clear identity.
This year the Tigers will play at Leichhardt, Campbelltown, CommBank Stadium and Tamworth, as well as a “home” game during Magic Round – which they will be financially compensated for – at Suncorp Stadium.
The Tigers hope a genuine home ground atmosphere will bring on-field success, which would help compensate for any money lost by playing exclusively at Leichhardt and Campbelltown instead of larger new stadiums with bigger and better corporate suites. Leichhardt can accommodate 400 corporate guests compared to CommBank’s capacity of more than 2500.
The club has generated a profit of about $3 million for the past two years, so there is no longer pressure to chase deals at bigger stadiums that carry financial incentives.
The $75 million redevelopment of Concord is due to open in May, while the club’s new academy will be constructed at Campbelltown in conjunction with the University of Western Sydney.
Some Tigers insiders believe playing all their games at their traditional homes will strengthen ties with the community and fan base.

Sources with knowledge of the internal discussions believe more games will be allocated to Campbelltown, possibly an 8-4 split, to capitalise on the booming population in Sydney’s south-west corridor.
Former Tigers coach Ivan Cleary first floated the idea of the club playing at one ground in 2018 in a bid to create a “home ground advantage”.
“If you’re going to be successful long term, one home ground is beneficial,” Cleary said at the time.
The Tigers’ $6 million decade-long agreement to play at Accor Stadium finishes at the end of next year.
CommBank Stadium has been used by the Tigers, but most fans and officials in the game concede the $360 million ground is the home of the Eels.
Playing a game at Tamworth each year remains an option for the Tigers because of the financial and game-day support they receive from the region.
Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe has often spoken about the long-term need for a clear identity for the joint venture, but stopped short of backing the exclusive use of the two traditional grounds.
“It’s clear when you look at all the really successful clubs around the world that they have a true understanding of their identity and a fortress they can call their own for all home games,” Pascoe said.
“Having a similar fortress is something the Wests Tigers are working towards making a reality.
“I won’t speculate on where we play our home games. But I do know there’s always the deep desire from everybody at this club to make sure we always pay homage and respect to our foundation clubs and where they originated from, which is Campbelltown and Leichhardt.”
Meanwhile, the centre of excellence is on track to open on May 4, with the playing surface a chance to be used as early as next month for captain’s runs.
The set-up features an in-house barbershop, a state-of-the-art recovery pool and a cabinet displaying historic Indigenous artefacts found during construction.
You could say the Same about Penrith Stadium but they will sell it out most weeks this year. Why? Because they are winning games. The results of your study are flawed. No matter what anyone says the cold hard facts are that, unless they live in the Campbelltown area, most supporters (except for rusted on fans) don’t want to go there.
Plus it’s dead for corporates as it’s too far for their clients to go to enjoy a few free frosties and a nibble.
2005 against the Cowboys had over 20k there. They were hanging off the grandstands. No one will travel to watch an average side, and because it’s all we have been for the majority of our existence, we have nothing to really to compare it to.You could say the Same about Penrith Stadium but they will sell it out most weeks this year. If we were consistently making the finals with the same crowd average we have then I’d be worried. Also the scheduling of our 3 games a year there doesn’t help. 6pm Friday games against out of town teams certainly doesn’t help with people travelling to games there2005 against the Cowboys had over 20k there. Lucky you were home to answer their call.the village called...
He did his MBA at UNSW - I don't think he'd pick some no name Uni at Campbelltown ahead of thereIf we had it a few years back Russell Packer wouldn’t have travelled down to Wollongong Uni to get his business degree..or masters
And burying books....You think WS Uni would have the cash to build it? They have been cutting staff like crazy and are not posting anything close to a profit.
Happy with Leichardt and Campbelltown, both venues will give us a great atmosphere and a real home team advantage. Nothing worse then sharing home grounds with other teams especially the Eels 🤮
Careful some on here LOVE sharing a home ground with parramattaHappy with Leichardt and Campbelltown, both venues will give us a great atmosphere and a real home team advantage. Nothing worse then sharing home grounds with other teams especially the Eels 🤮
And they aint gonna get that at Leichhardt either. No matter what anyone says the cold hard facts are that, unless they live in the Campbelltown area, most supporters (except for rusted on fans) don’t want to go there.

I don't live in Sydney just playing devils advocate - however i played a game in Bathurst in the University Cup in the early 80's - it snowed during the game and the ground was frozen. It was like being tackled on a concrete cricket pitch.Try living in Bathurst!!!
Go away you troll. And burying books....
I dont live in the C'town area or anywhere it so I dont know the nitty gritty details, but the Sports Academy has been talked about for a few years now.You think WS Uni would have the cash to build it? They have been cutting staff like crazy and are not posting anything close to a profit.
That's because the corporates are in the sun there. No matter what anyone says the cold hard facts are that, unless they live in the Campbelltown area, most supporters (except for rusted on fans) don’t want to go there.
