I doubt many here would have supported his retention for this season had our club not given Maguire an additional two years last pre-season.
Even that decision was made on the back of having already regressed, let alone becoming the sorry defensive side that went further backwards in 2021.

Manly from memory lost their first 4 games or only won 1 out of their first 6 games. I have a feeling that if we had played Manly Round 1, we would've still won. The Manly side we played in the trial last year cannot be Compared in any way whatsoever to the side in the Finals.

And returned for our game and tore us apart. The start of their form reversal.
We weren't on our own. They ruined a few sides when Tommy got back. We were not on our Pat there. They literally went from a bottom four to a top four team with him back in the side, he adds that much value to their line up.

Yep in the 2021 trial the Tigers went in at full strength - Manly basically played pretty much their reserve grade team in both halves - no DCE, Foran, Turbo, Jurbo, Saab

Despite a disappointing performance from the Sea Eagles, coach Des Hasler won't lose too much sleep after fielding a team without the likes of superstars Daly Cherry-Evans, Kieran Foran and Jake Trbojevic.
The Sea Eagles were also missing fullback Tom Trbojevic, who was recently ruled out with a hamstring injury and isn't expected to be fit until at least round four.
Kieran Foran, Dylan Walker and Jason Saab also didn't feature for the club today.
