The starting backline and majority of those forwards would make most if not all NRL sides.. with some young guys mixed in..

It just highlights the imbalance in the NRL..

It won't be a pushover..Rorters missed a heap of starting players throughout 2021 ans still finished high on the ladder,,

Good point geo, probably the later part of my statement is closer to the mark.
Put it this way, if we can't put ourselves in a position to win this, then it's going to be a long year, how's that for a compromise? 🤔

Have you seen the starting side?

Teddy missing, rest of the backline is about full strength
Keary missing but he was most of last year. Manu would walk into any position of our backline.
JWH/Taki missing, Baker and Fifita would be in our top 17 + Collins QLD Rep prop on the bench.
Crichton missing, Tupi and Radley would walk into our backrow

Our bench does look stronger but its the roosters they will be very well trained, drilled and motivated.

For us we are missing top 17 players AD, Talau, Blore, Twal and Mika.

Based on paper it shouldn't be even close to a blow out.
I just want to see us compete, if we do then we could get a positive result.

Yeh good observations mate.
As Geo pointed out they have enough talent to towel us up if we don't come to play football.
However our team is close to how we've been training and their teams has some ommisions. We should play and act with confidence and put in a good show, that's all in saying.
I still believe Madge is under the microscope.
 
I think this game will give us a much better indication of where we’re at as a team. If we can win or at least stay competitive then I’ll be reassured heading into the season. If it’s a blowout score line for the Roosters than we’re in trouble.

As a lot of other people are saying, the Roosters line-up is deceptively strong but not full strength.

Twal is a big out for us tonight we will miss his defence
Radley is up there as most over hyped player in the comp if he was playing for a weaker club he wouldn't get talked about as much

I think Madge will only be under the microscope if we get blown out every week or lose 9 out of our 1st 10 games.

If we compete and don't see blow out scores can see he will be coach next year.

Anyone who looks at our roster cannot expect us to be a top 8 contender based on last year and limited personal changes realistically.

I'm just sick of people wrapping him he is nothing special at hooker i would rather Api and at lock Twal or Papali would be better than him shows how average we are

I'd like to argue with that but you make too much sense 🌝
 
I just wanna see a side that shows commitment in defence and a team that shows something in attack other than 4 hit ups and a bomb.

IMO a successful trial tonight would be to concede 2 tries or less...if you're gonna take something out of a trial match, surely it would have to be defense.

In all seriousness, I said in several post ago what will save Madges bacon is if we have a really good end to the season.
If for example, WT can string our last 3 games on the trot, because their is so much emphasis on 2023 rebuild, this momentum could save him.
If we have a reasonable year but lose our later games then I think its bye bye.

I think the media heat on us will become too much if teams continue to go through us like a hot knife through butter. 25 rounds is a long season. Madge needs our defensive line to show some grit. Bad signs against Manly.

Mainly on the edges, not up the middle.
I would like to see To'a trialled at centre, half a game each with Roberts
