Bad signs - You mean when Jock Madden and Junior Pauga neither of which should play more then mayby a week of NRL let in a try or when Junior Puagau was injured and were left 1 short in the defensive line or when Tommy Turbo set something up in the 40th minute of a trial. Nothing in the 2nd half mattered and only 1 try in first half had any reflection on our NRL team. Prob bad signs for our NSW cup team if it intended to take up an 18th NRL licence though

I think you’re right regarding the start of the season. If we leak points and start woefully, Madge will be gone. Media pressure is already on him and most pundits are predicting he won’t be there at the end of the year.

The team at the very least needs to show some grit like you said and there needs to be signs of improvement. I’m happy to wait until the first ten rounds to gauge where the team is and whether we’ve improved or not though.
 
I'm sure the next Coach will be bashing down the door after Maguire is sacked... if they want to kill their careers that is..

I'm with you on the injury front comment Boony, but trials are a necessary evil, whilst I'll agree the scoreline isn't as critical as getting combinations right.
Imagine the new guys not getting a run before the Storm game 🤔

Keep blindly defending the club after getting shellacked mate. The men in the building have had the same excuses for 11 years now. What will be our excuse tonight?

It would be nice for a change if we went out to win a game instead of attempting not to lose it.

Paws too often we play erratic, make school boy errors early. Often just simple handling mistakes or ill disciplined footy. I think a lot of us would rather see us not beat ourselves. That’s what I mean by gritty.

I tend to agree as well. The team should be showing desire and a will to win every game. However it’s a long season and premiership hopes often rely on peaking at the right time like the Roosters in 2018 or the Tigers in 05. I’d rather win the majority of our first ten games and set ourselves up for a chance to break into the 8 rather than focus all our energy in trial games.

Gosford has received another 18mm in the two hours since the measurement reset at 9am, so looks like we'll be staying home unless there is an unexpected change in conditions.

Looks like I’ll be getting wet then. Hopefully find somewhere undercover if it gets bad. Hopefully all the manly fans leave after their game
