Can't coach natural speed and he's got it in his spades

If it could be a loan with a recall clause id send him for some experience, but with Douiehi out for a while i wouldnt risk not having the specialist back up half. Id also tie him down for at least a year post this season in case he kills it.

AD is Perfect 14

We dont need a perfect 14..particularly on $550k /yr.He needs to cement his place in the run on team(and I think he will)
He was arguably our best player last year(amongst a mediocre bunch)..and easily the most passionate
Got a feeling he'll work great with Hastings and together re-charge this team

Agree, Madden had very little football, especially in the top grade, and i mentioned in posts last year that i would have used him more. He is a natural half, is quick, tough ,has a good kicking game and a good football brain. I would persist with him, he just needs game time, i hope the spoilers on here give him a chance.

You could see his playmaker instincts in the trial, how he looked up and saw no fullback in play and a teammate running to the posts. He had no hesitation in kicking, and we scored under the posts. Brooks would have second guessed himself and eventually needed to step and submit in the tackle. Thats the difference. Brooks has just lost his mojo, his confidence. When he was younger he'd take this gamble 9/10, and Teddy and co would score more often than not.

I'd take a loan of Madden for CHN or Horsbrough. Both off contract and somewhat realistic options. Think CHN would be more likely.

I know we as fans can be very rose coloured glasses but he cannot even be mentioned as a NRL quality center let alone close to the best center in the comp. He has played what 3-4 games in the position. Is he of value to us as a center potentially but he wouldn't crack a center role at any other NRL club right now.

Only if Madden signed a two year extension of his current contract at WTs. Madden will be in demand and having him on contract provides WTs with options.

passion doesn't equal best skill or fit
if we fire in halves why should he replace Brooks or Hastings
likewise does he walk into centre if we are going well
it mat be utility or bust if we are going well

I reckon he is not far off the mark, let's not pretend just because he's leaving he isn't a weapon in attack

In a better team his offload would be utilised much better, there was a few times in the roosters trial he was looking to offload once he poked his nose through but our support play is weak.
I've always been a massive critic of his defense though

The support play at the cows is worse.

He's great in attack. He's on par in defence. Tuilagi is better overall. Luch isn't far behind. He is to attack what Blore is to defence.

If you play for the Roosters you get a lot more leeway than most for foul play. If Radley played for WT he'd be lucky to smash out a dozen games a season.
