RIP SHANE WARNE

Some of the best 12th man quotes were about Warnie

”Some people think Shane’s poo is pure white, and has no smell at all. And I can believe if”
”Well Bull. Having never shared a cubicle next to Shane. I can neither confirm or deny that rumour”

Another part of my cricketing childhood gone.

Deano, Tony Greig, Tangles, Richie, Warnie.

I hope it doesn't follow in threes.
I’ve been worrying a lot about old Bill lately. He’s 86 or 87 now. Maybe a year or two younger. When I got the news alert on my phone for Rod Marsh, and I read Australian cricketing legend, I expected to read Bill‘s name.

Remember the old thing about remembering where you were when a certain celebrity passed away. There’s been so many the last few years, I’ve forgotten half of them. It’s become such a common thing now.

For whatever reason I couldn't get to sleep last night and was just laying there with the radio on hoping to doze off when I heard the news and of course thought there was some sort of a mistake in the reporting especially being so soon after the passing of Rod Marsh.

Unfortunately it was proven to be correct and I just couldn't believe it.

As I listened to the tributes coming in during the hours since, I heard one that stuck in my mind and can't remember where it was from or the precise wording, but it went something like this, "Shane Warne's passing was as unexpected as one of his deliveries."

Very appropriate I thought, for the man who always had batsmen wondering what the next ball was going to do.

RIP legend.

Most effected I've been by a celebrities death, glad I got to grow up and watch him in my youth what a time it was when the Aus team was invinsible. I must say some of the speculations on here regarding his death is distasteful and disrespectful toward the goat his personal life etc is no ones business and he really lived life to the fullest rip Warnie

Might agree with you regarding that

Like I said today, very reminiscent of Kobe’s death. A larger than life athlete who was a cultural icon. I can’t remember too many celebs who have died prematurely in this country who have pretty much stopped the nation.

Here we are... in a thread of people paying their respect - this foolish agitator chimes in a day later, still missing the entire point.

A routine you're known for, not really ever contributing in any positive way.

I have no respect for you.
Just a nuisance of the highest order...
