Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I rate Blore as one of the best young defensive backrowers in the game, and Kelma not very highly in defence, though Kelma looks more exciting in attack. When you have a similar try-leaking backrower on the other side, things can get ugly.

Based on one hit?
I don't rate him anywhere near the best young defensive back rowers in the game....
Maybe among the best young defensive Back Rowers at the club.

To be honest it would take a lot of trust to give him another contract,he has not been bad but he has not been great either. It will probably come down to if the club sees enough potential in him
Melbourne will take him on minimum coin and turn him into a backrow ball playing superstar

The two guys i would be trying to purchase from cronulla are jesse colquohoun and jack williams, Firstly williams is injured and will find it hard to get back into the cronulla side with mcinness, graham, hunt, nikora etc....... has very good leg speed and is super fit. i think hes 26-27. the next is colquhoun, reports are he's the next big thing out of cronulla and he was on the bench for newtown on saturday, both have what we dont in regards to forwards, leg speed which gives you options in how you play. Williams is on 175,000 currently, colquhoun is on nothing, go in hard sheensy, make a statement, Then go and buy berrel aswell, who has a proper attacking game out of dummy half and is a way better option atm than liddle and simpkin. GO IN HARD

Tigers are cashed up and ready to spend

The Wests Tigers showed signs of improvement in the loss to Melbourne on Saturday night.
It’s interesting to note they are playing around $1m under the salary cap in 2022. The Tigers are forking out about $400,000 for Moses Mbye to play at the Dragons, while they also have close to $600,000 in unused salary cap space this year given their previous struggles in recruitment.

The Tigers are keeping a close eye on the player market in the hope of a mid-season signing, although they could choose to pay some of their current players in advance and free up more money to add to the 2023 signings of Api Koroisau and Isaiah Papali’i.

They had discussed pursuing Jack Bird but decided against making an offer. They are interested in Cronulla backrower Briton Nikora, who is off contract at the end of the year.

Saturday night’s loss continues a horrible run for the Tigers at CommBank Stadium, recording their 11th loss in 16 games at the venue in Parramatta.

This is their final year of their commitment to play a minimum of four home games at the new facility in Parramatta.

The club is moving towards finalising their home grounds for next season, and it appears as though they will play eight games a season at Campbelltown as part of their focus on reconnecting to the south-west. That will leave the club with four home games at Leichhardt Oval each season.

I’m happy with 8 at Cambo and 4 at Leichhardt oval
I’d be happy with Nikora
I think Bird is a question mark , maybe tigers know more than us regarding injury or attitude
I think Simms from Dragons would be a good get also for 2 years. Starting this season mid year move type thing , I’m not sold on Musgrave

I would resign him for 1 year with a Club Option.

We have invested so much to simply let him go just before he matures.
I would definitely keep him. There is a reason he was continuing to get time and experience in first grade. The club see him as a part of the future. To just get rid of him after the past couple of years of development would be a waste in my opinion.

With this injury he should be on a cheaper contract and at worst, he is good depth with NRL games under his belt to come into your side when needed. At best, he uses the experience he has had over the past couple of seasons and becomes a quality first grader.

Obviously, you hope he bounces back from this injury which is not a certainty. But I wouldn't be parting ways with him yet.

I suppose one aspect of things timing wise is Roberts is on a one year extension this year, and Talau is injured for this season and his contract runs out end of season. Roberts is not renewed unless he has a blinder of a year (hopefully but I doubt it), then replace his spot with Talau coming back from injury offering 1 year with a further year or two at club option with salary increases included if lcub takes it up and sees maturity and fitness coming through.

William Kei is another outside back who won't be renewed. Takes one of either Roberts or Kei's spots and still leaves space for a good signing.
