To me, it just doesn’t mix. I love music, but if I go to a concert, I’m not going to see a game of footy break out. So when I go to the footy, I’m not going to watch a concert. Music at the footy shouldn’t go beyond being played when the team runs out and when they score a try.

It's about creating an atmosphere. All of us here like to watch the game live and analyse. That's not true for a majority of population. You need drums, chants, entertainment etc to engage the wider population.

Obviously, it needs to be a bit controlled and not take over the main game. Just like tennis, there's a certain etiquette to "supporting" the team.

What I don’t like is being surrounded by obese, middle aged, bald, autism sufferers with triple chins and extra large man boobs who scream at the ref and players all game, in between their gluttonous intake of hotdogs and stale beer.

I don't think we'd get along if we went to the footy.

Thought the drums were awesome. Hopefully more of it. Helps build some extra atmosphere to the game.
