Is that kid iliias any good?
No need to rub it in, as Wests Tigers supporters we beat ourselves up enough already.Possibly...
Have you been watching Parra since they got done for Cap Rorting?
They've gone from 3-4 Wooden Spoons to 3-4 Top 4 finishes in the space of a decade.
Melbourne have proven what happens if they're not cheating....
They're the top team. They've got the top people - who get the top players - and make them a top team.
People forget the scandal was 12 years ago... They've won at least a couple comps since then, And been in the battle for a few others.
Remember when we got their 3rd best hooker and he was our best player!!
Doesn't really seem to be exceptionally talented except for when he plays against us.Opacic is serviceable. Not a huge game breaker but solid and has a good attitude I think. Fairly reliable defender too.
Yeah. That's why I said he's serviceable.Doesn't really seem to be exceptionally talented except for when he plays against us.
Scored 4 tries for them in Ressies last week...Doesn't really seem to be exceptionally talented except for when he plays against us.
Right but what was the Storm penalty for cheating the cap? They were stripped competitions, crippled on the ladder for the following season (impossible to win from there) and lost 1 major player - Inglis to Souths.Possibly...

They kept Slater, Smith and Cronk, which was the backbone of their ongoing success even until 2017.
I won't argue for a minute that they have not continued to be a dominant and successful side, even with those Big 3 players gone, but the fact is they created an elite side through fraud, then were only lightly handicapped for the following seasons, and the core of that elite team remained. Could there not have been a different outcome if they paid their players regular wages and were out-bid by someone much earlier for Slater, Cronk or Smith?
Compare to Tigers, who were significantly penalised, including CEO suspension, for simply planning to offer Farah an ambassador role, which didn't actually eventuate, and something many other clubs do (except the clubs don't announce it in advance). I'm not arguing here on the sloppiness of the Tigers' approach, I am arguing about the significance of the penalty and the impact on the club's salary cap. Cronulla's coach defied his ban that same year, was caught out by accident, and Sharks received the same penalty as Tigers.
No argument.Mate,
I'm not arguing with all the other stuff... Or at all really.
The "Cop Out" that the Storms success is built on cap cheating and the players they kept were only kept because they rorted the cap is hogwash!!
They finished almost on as many points as us in 2005, When the like of Inglis and Cronk were almost Rookies... Slater and Smith a couple years in.
Anyone claiming the Storm were paying kids with bags and boats way back then is on crack...
They built them!! Simple as that...
None of those players (Bar Slater - Maybe) were as high profile as Benji back in those days - And we kept him no hassles...
They kept them how they kept them in later years for sure - But they built them, Built the club and built the culture down there.... and not much has changed since the players left and thy got busted for cap cheating... They're still there - or there abouts - EVERY YEAR!!
Don't know if you remember - But the story broke that Fox wanted out when he was in Origin with Fergo and found out that Fergo was on 500k - And he was on 250k.
They let Club legends like Finucane and Chambers walk... Blair... Bromwich.
All the rubbish that get trotted out about them is just jealousy, Because most cant match them.
they hate em cos they aint em.
I like you info about Illias but there is a lot of rewriting of history in it. Illias was playing HM when Doueihi, Seyfarth, Suli and Papenhuyzen were playing SG Ball. Had he stayed, he may have played with Brooks in the halves.Illias a smart footballer. You can see it. He can steer souths around the park. Has a good kicking game and good defence. My mate knows his family well. Very grounded kid Intelligent. He was a Balmain jnr. Another we let go for brooks. I would be surprised if brooks is with us next year. He is well past it.
Could be wrong but reckon by 2203 he'd be past it..I think we should offer jack bird a contract for 2203 good solid consistent first grader I know he has had is injury troubles in the past but he put together a decent year last year and is playing well again this year
Saves his petroleum for the fancy stuffLucy’s main problem is his gas tank.
All the clubs hit with salary cap penalties have had success shortly after.Right but what was the Storm penalty for cheating the cap? They were stripped competitions, crippled on the ladder for the following season (impossible to win from there) and lost 1 major player - Inglis to Souths.
