No it doesn't. Pascoe has an opinion but it's the board's decision who to keep as coach. In fact as far as I can tell, Pascoe is as removed from Football Operations as he has ever been - little to no day-

Have they both got the required level of coaching certificate @coivtny ?
And I think Madge's current assistant coach? would get the gig before Benji and Robbie.
In fairness Magpies I was probably venting some frustration at Maguire but I do believe we need to go outside the box for our next coach. The really good coaches simply won't come. The run-of-the-mill coaches will but they are not the answer for us. We have picked a succession of these coaches and got nowhere for years.
Robbie and Benji would bring something different. They know and love the club, they were both very good footballers and, being recently retired, they will relate to the players. They will also know who is worth persevering with and who needs to be let go. If they don't have the necessary qualifications they can get them and, in the meantime Sheens can be the 'nominal' head coach.
I don't believe either of our current assistants are remotely close to being NRL head coach candidates. If I was picking our next coach I would pick Flanagan in a heartbeat and not think twice about it or apologise for doing it. But I accept his 'past' is not his biggest advantage.

So we DID win the toss and chose to run against the wind?

Yes we did not just a wind a roaring gale, in 9's commentary they asked Johns if he like to run with or against the wind in the first half. He said always with theres no guarantee it will still be there in the 2nd half.
I think his commentary is hugely bias but he was spot on who chooses to run against a howling gale and as we saw it dropped right off in the 2nd half. I said at half time whoever choice that was should be sacked. You can only imagine it was Madge " alright boys everyone thinks we're soft lets prove em wrong lets do this the hard way against the wind that'll show em" what a rubbish decision one can only conclude it was self sabotage.

Yep fair enough @coivtny 🙂 Good reply 🙂

EVERY try scored against us this year has been scored by a back or a forward playing wide in the backline. The middle defence (only) may be a bit better than we acknowledge.

I keep hearing “who do you replace Maguire with”. Over the past 3 and a little bit years I have seen a decline in our performances each year. His winning percentage is around 35% in this period.

The obvious answer to “who do you replace him with” is - anybody.

Flanagan is everything we need .. everything ,, the Sharks team he took to the grand final played tough smart committed footy week in week out, he knows the game backwards and is an excellent man manager … I’d love for him to coach us , he’ll Id beg him if I had to , me personally if that is what would do it

Yep. At least if Madge goes and some other poor soul takes over, we might have an excuse for being terrible.

These guys seem ready..

Mate I've been thinking of this photo and seething all morning about it.
What possesses grown men to take photos like these? Utter embarrassment, I almost feel sorry for these clowns. Probably passable for a teenage girl to act like this, but grown men, playing a brutal sport like NRL? Disgusting.
Who actually likes this sort of suss crap? Do their teammates get around them and say "bro, saw that cool pic of youse guys in the elevator! Nice handsigns boys, that looked wild!" Fair dinkum embarrassment to themselves, their families and their football club. You just shake your head in disbelief.

Not sure about this.
Flanagan had his team on an illegal doping scheme to get the best out of them.
He also had a class of cattle that we could only dream about: Maloney pulling all the right strings and directing his team around brilliantly like a great general should- also a superb goalkicker.
Fafita was at the peak of his powers and nearly unstoppable for awhile there. A first class tough, committed captain in Gallen who would never ever quit and would spit on a teammate in disgust if they dared to. Great interchange Livewire in Barba. Tough, committed hooker in Ennis- see above for Gallen, Ennis was in the same mould. Valentine Holmes was a big threat on the edge. Master ball-playing lock in Wade Graham at his peak. That's just for starters, they had great players all over the field.
Madge mightn't be the answer, but I'm not convinced Flanagan is either. He will have zero at WT that he had at Cronulla: no class players, no tough players, no fast players, no good defensive players, no players with a win-at-all-costs attitude, no players with skill, no heart, no hunger, no pride of performance and last but not least: no performance enhancing drug program.

If i was Sheens, id make every player join this forum and read all 56 pages of this game thread this includes Madge as punishment they clearly dont get it. Time for them to hear from the common paying customers about how rubbish that performance actually was.
