Daine Laurie #237

He’s still part of the culture. Comes in with an “I’m only a low paid player” attitude and takes the young blokes to the pub. Would it wash under Bellamy?

Bellamy is responsible for a culture that has seen at least three of his players all caught doing cocaine on video, another player beating the hell out of some bloke in Bali. All of these players are still playing for the Storm, so yeah.....I think Bellamy would allow a bloke to play the pokies and not drink at 9pm.

Recreational drugs happen in society and footy. It’s not up to me to condone anything. I’m questioning the characters brought into the WT culture amongst 10 years of losing.

Did Munster just spend a few months in rehab? Who does he play for? Who is the coach that tolerates this "kulcha"?

you realise you are using these arguments in the context of two blokes quietly playing poker machines, NOT drinking and leaving at 9pm?

You play for your country and win games regularly you get a bit of latitude, I’m sure they’re not smashing lines on the night before the game.

Also has premiership rings and kangaroos jerseys. My OP in this thread was that it’s not a crime, just another example of WT low standards. I was one of the biggest critics of signing Roberts initially and he’s doing little to prove me wrong.

I’ve had my say and will leave it there. Hope he scores a hat trick this week making me look silly 🤡

Sensationalism is nothing new. I remember Mitchell Pearce with the dog. Before it was revealed what he did, the story broke that he was caught on camera doing something that Josh Massoud described ”it makes Todd Carney look like a Boy Scout”. I still roll my eyes when I think how desperate he was to beat that story up

Also has better players and is a better coach.

When I saw the headline, I was thinking the same as you are arguing. When I read that they werent drinking and left at 9pm....Im fine with it.

Agree with you that we have both said our point and not much else to flesh out.

It's hard to say I'm not bagging you BAGNF05, sounds silly hey 😁
Mate I've been reading thru all the banter and both side of the argument have valid points and if

I can recall munsters bloodshot eyes in the state of origin photo, then what happened?
If QLD got toweled up because he couldn't play?
The only thing that I have to say in defense and attack about Roberts and Laurie is they are Koori bros and apparently close, it could have been a bonding session without booze and on the other hand Roberts being the senior player should have said lets go to dinner or something else that won't draw the crabs.
All arguments have some merit so why don't we all 🤜🤛🤝😘 and move on.

Don't forget Mr Glidey-Panels still hasn't fronted court yet for beating up a woman. The 'Melbourne culture' is the most overused piece of BS vernacular in the NRL. They've got a long and proud history of being scumbags on the field and no angels off it despite popular belief. Not to mention the ahem, systematic cheating.

Mr Glidey-Panels?

It is no crime.....but it sure is bad optics.

These days....players just need to be as professional as they can. Bad optics do matter....particularly in the state our club is presently in. Getting on the punt is a vice.....and doing it in a public place the night before a game is not great.

Our club need to be doing as much right as they can.
