I disagree, as long as they getting swapped when the player on field is fatigued.
There has to be a balance and imo the balance is fatigue

Hard to go into games with set plans, if you end up defending a lot more, that game plan is out of the door

Not strange at all. Liddle is our number 1 hooker and is 10 times the threat out of dummy half that Simpkin is.

Despite all my negativity towards the team and club to start the season, I’m really excited for Madden to get a start.

It will at least be interesting to see if he’s improved since last year and hopefully he shows that he can be a long term solution in the halves.

Im hoping this opportunity can spark some attacking flair out of Brooks,if so it could work very well for us....anyway best of luck to Madden,he at least tries to play to the best of his ability.....

Agree but more the point Simpkin has years to go. Have said this a few times he is 2-3yrs younger than any other Hooker in the NRL. He is coming off a 40 tackle game. We don't want this kid to make 40 tackles a week just yet. Let him come off the bench, own that role and mature himself into the NRL. He has a heap of time - the kid has what it takes to be our long term 9 past Api, we just need to look after him the next few years so we can all enjoy it.

It was 20mins in a trial. Had he of played the first 60 reversed position to Brooks id agree but he came on and added spark as required. But lucky for him he missed all the defence Brooks did before him.

Yeah agreed as well. He added a lot of spark and his short kicking game was great against the Roosters. I’m both trials he looked more comfortable taking the line on as well so that’s also a positive.

Just saw To’a was named to start in the centres as well for his club debut. Best of luck to him as well.

Alex Twal is a good all round player, rarely plays poorly, good D, but when he runs he doesn't give me confidence that he's going to bust through the D.
He's running style is very upright, very Klemmer like, but Klem knows when to put the head down and drive the legs.
Alex is one of my fav players but I think he needs to be coached properly on how to get more post contact m.
There is a big difference in post contact m where after your finally stopped and you lose the wrestle and get a slow the play the ball to the other which is totally opposite.
Good sides usually get quick play the balls after the line is bent, Melbourne is prob one of the best sides at doing this, especially with the new penalty rule.
Our side lacks brutish runs with quick play the balls, when this happens, backs will look better and Alex might get his first meat pie.

Alex doesn’t miss many tackles but most of them are soft and not dominant. He also has many problems running the ball.
He is a benchie at best, which is why we require at least 1 more prop on the books.
