Simple fullback game not whatever Laurie fraudulently displayed last night.

Yeah true just thinking tho he's still our most creative player and take away that from a team struggling in attack.

Think nofo escaping criticism. He's knock on at the first tackle was not first grade standard too

I think Laurie is at the crossroads as a player. Has ability but has made some really poor decisions in the last 6 months off the field and his head certainly doesn't look like it's where it should be on the field. For his "cat" like play the last couple of weeks, i go back to last year when he made an escape from the in goal that was pure courage that he had no right to make. Says more about where his head is at IMO than anything.
I hope Dillon has been getting plenty of catching practice at training. Someone said he has a habbit of not contesting kicks which if true will kill any 1st grade career before it begins.

Yeah good point he definitely had the courage last year, don't know what's happened to him this year. It's more than 'second year syndrome' that's for sure.

He has been appalling this year, massive 2nd year syndrome but he is still very raw. In a decent team he would probably be playing wing or centre until the veteran FB moved on. With this youth policy, a lot of them are going to be thrown into the deep end, I am afraid that we all better get use to some very hot and cold performances from the young guys. Same with Simpkin, he will do well with a couple of years behind Korisau.

Problem with toa at fb doesn't have a passing game.

Gotta be able to catch before you pass it.

Was thinking about this last night and recalled he lost a family member during the preseason. I don’t think he is mentally ready to be playing first grade, he needs some time in reserves so if the spotlight and without the pressure so he can get his head right.

We are stuffed at fullback.
Laurie is shot at the moment, has zero confidence and it’s very very costly.
But we have zero options if we want someone to spread our attack.

Dillon is way off, Toa isn’t a fullback
AD could cover it but we moved him on purpose also not back for another 10 odd games.
Hastings is too slow for the fullback at NRL level

Dropping a FB rarely works well for any club. He can play better and has played better. He was brave and safe at the back last year - injury, confidence, media interference, and the pressure of performing for a disgruntled fan base, may all have something to do with what happens to players who have a form drop at this club.

I'll defend Laurie by writing that coming back from the horrific injury he suffered is difficult. I believe him to be one of our best when fit. He is clearly not that at present. Give him time to get back to his best.

Horrific injury? It was only a broken fibula - 6 week recovery time. Let's not get that confused with a broken tibia which is horrific.

Poor performance and he needs to be held accountable.
