Nanai and Neame are young and impressive.
Farmworth a very good young all round centre 3/4.
Where are all our up and coming youngsters. For all the so called junior development and recruitment we were supposed to have done over last few years not very much that I can see that has emerged with mich value so far.
….. very disappointing ….. but things can only get better I hope????? Will I see that day LOL I’m running out of years.

Nannai zero chance, even if we offered double. They have a lot of quality kids up there in Townsville, I would love to even get Cotter if he was out of contract.

This 100%. We apparently went a junior path what 4yrs ago?
Our reserve grade team is terrible and well we have zero options to promote for a rookie year this season currently. That says it all.

Think Seyfarth and maybe Simpkin I guess are the only ones that have come through the reggie rank into NRL so far.

NQ must be spewing about signing Luciano for $700k next year. They have starting superstars in their own backyard. Why take up good cap space by making the Luc transaction. Doesn't make sense.

This is getting very frustrating as it seems like we are the only club that can not produce a real top line talent.. Most clubs have them coming out of the woodwork and all we can do is poach some of them but the biggest question is WHY are they not stepping up when they get here ???? I am starting to think we don't have the right coaches here developing them and that alone is hard to say.. IDK the answers but maybe just maybe a new leader is actually needed or a massive clean out again..

This is getting very frustrating as it seems like we are the only club that can not produce a real top line talent.. Most clubs have them coming out of the woodwork and all we can do is poach some of them but the biggest question is WHY are they not stepping up when they get here ???? I am starting to think we don't have the right coaches here developing them and that alone is hard to say.. IDK the answers but maybe just maybe a new leader is actually needed or a massive clean out again..

I think you’ll find that the talent is not as great as people want to believe it is. We got the Compton brothers unwanted by dogs. Ogden unwanted by warriors. Dillon unwanted by Bulldogs. Cini unwanted by panthers and dogs. Hoffman and Simpkin unwanted by Brisbane. Simpkins unwanted by North Queensland.
There’s plenty more I could go on even our First graders we’ve signed were unwanted by their former clubs.
It’s a hadge padge mix of misfits and outcasts and Madge is out there trying to be Craig Bellamy turning all these rocks into Diamonds because quite simply
No one worthy wants to play for the tigers.
Well at least until one of our recent two signings in Papali’i.
Before him when did you ever hear we outbid a club for a talented youngster? Or picked up a first grader even by way of choice?

No mate not at all.

I’ll go one step further to say not retaining Payton was probably the single most incorrect decision this club has made. We had the option of putting him in similar to a Morris role. He had the report with the players, he coached brilliantly in the lower grades and our club says a big up yours to the players and puts Jason Taylor in charge.

Nope. He is a development natural style coach.
Give him a young squad and he will do well with them. Cowboys will surprise a few people this year but next 2yrs if they can keep the younger talent they will be top 8 for sure.
He needs time to mould the roster and get them how he wants them

I think Payten is a modern day Madge in terms of his direct hard edge. He’s probably made some errors of judgment in terms of his use of words and the timing of them but they look a completely different side, albeit 3 weeks old for season 2022

Out of the list of kids Simpkin was wanted up in QLD, it was us or Brisbane from memory.
Madge convinced him to come to us after his interstate trip.
As to the rest we don't have much at all to get excited about junior talent wise for a while at best.
Unless we buy our dry spell is going to last for a while. Papa & Api won't save us themseleves.
