The following table may be a guide and help us to answer the question.
Cowboys end of season ladder positions for the past 5 seasons.
.....................Halfback....5/8.........Coach
2017 - 8th.....MM/JT......TMM............PG
2018 - 13th...MM/JT.......MM/TMM...PG
2019 - 14th....MM...........TMM............PG
2020- 14th.....MM.........SD/JC......PG/JH
2021- 15th.....MM.........SD.........T.Payten
As can be seen a rapid decline since 2017 with mostly the same coach and halves (JT was mostly injured)
...........................2022................................
....New H/back.....New5/8....New Coach
...C.Townsend.....T.Deardon......T..Payten
The Cowboys have had a brilliant start to the season winning 2/3, they were dominant in winning their last 2 games and only lost by 2 points in their first game.
It appears that with the arrival of a new Coach (TP) plus their new halves the Cowboys have shown instant success and are destined for a top 8 spot since 2017.
So what do you think folks, is it the Coach, the halves or both.
