They may well need to go - My point is... Who were they buying, And with what money.
Up until last year, We still had Reynolds, Packer and Mbye on the Books - Taking up more than 2 Million on our cap and we got exactly 23 games between all 3 of them.
(It's easy to forget they're costing us money because we can't see them)

The main mistake Pascoe has made was giving full autonomy of the roster to Cleary - He wasn't on his own, That directive came from the board (I heard that out of Go's mouth)

I said it before, There's so much that goes into landing a player (especially a good one) outside of everything....
Tell me - Without considering The Coach or Money or interstate clubs, Where would any player rather be located and who would they rather play for.

Wests Tigers (Concord / Campbelltown)
St George (Wollongong)
Roosters (Bondi)
Manly (Nothern Beaches)
Penrith (Blue Mountains)
South Sydney (Maroubra)
or Parramatta

It's crazy to think because we're operating under the same salary cap amounts and restrictions, That we automatically have the same amount of appeal.
No player is choosing us over Sharks, Roosters, Rabbits, Dragons or Manly... Beaches close by, Coastal Lifestyle... Unless the money is ridiculous - Regardless of the coach.

We can compete with Parra and Penrith in recruitment, Panthers are on fire and Parra have massive backing (fans and corporate alike)

That's 2 clubs out of the other 7 close to us that have approximately the same appeal - Now that's not even considering Money, Club or Coach. That's just on a "nicer place to exist" level.

On top of that - We have to identify a player we need / can afford, Convince him to move to the inner / outer West, pay him the amount of money he needs, AND beat 15 other clubs to his signature...
We're not the pied piper - It's not as easy as playing a tune on a flute and they all come running... The Game is competitive - And so is the Market.

Missing out on players is disappointing, But that's what happens when you're where we're at.

Why can't you live in manly and play for us? Location is a ridiculous excuse as to why we can't compete with other Sydney clubs.

What argument would there possibly be for living in a nice place close to the beach and driving an hour each way through shitty traffic to get to work and back every day
- When you can get he same money to live AND WORK in a nice place, close to the beach?

Haven't you heard? the whole world knows people in Manly won't drive over the bridge.... Shire folk - Never leave the Shire.

I'm a Tigers fan - And I don't visit Cambo or Concord on a trip to Sydney... I go to Manly, Cronulla, Bondi and those places.

I'm guessing you're not from the city? - Asking anyone to drive from the Eastern Suburbs to inner west, Is like asking them to drive to Perth.
I'm from the country but live in the city, Peoples reaction over driving 20kms in the City never ceases to amaze me... It doesn't happen man, most won't wear it...

I can't believe Garner and Gutho do it - If Manly wants them back tomorrow, My bet is they'd both be back there in a heart beat.

Just a bullshit excuse. Every club in Sydney can attract top talent except us. It's the club not location.

Pascoe saves the owners from putting money into the club so he is safe.

What's Sheens going to do - He couldn't get players when he was here either....
Had like 3-4 Big name signings in 10 Years. (Even after winning the comp)

No I don't want us to re-locate...
But we need to find a way to sell the club, We've got nothing external of a bottom table club to offer anyone....
I don't have the answer.... I'm only suggesting that just going out and "Signing quality players" is not easy for us - Never has been.

That's where a quality CEO would come in handy.

You can’t sign quality players until you either start climbing the ladder, or put together a huge war chest.
Weve had 10 years to sort this out. Not much closer than we were back then.

Is that true though? We signed Matterson - We signed Api and Ice....
If we need a war chest - What War chest has Madge had?
He's had million dollar players who weren't even playing ressies.

And others not worth feeding..

We had enough money to land Lattrell and JAC so they can't use the old 'no cap space" excuse.

Yeah - OK....
That's 2 different players, In 2 Different positions, In 2 different years....
But they got another offer from another club.
There's 15 of those other clubs, That's going to happen.
What other players of those calibres in those positions have come on the market since that time? None that i can think of.
So we had to sign someone else in that Position.
We got Laurie - tried to get Latrell... Didn't work - No ones fault.

If you remember (As I do), There were whispers Latrell was going to souths to replace GI well before he left the Roosters!!
So - Again, What chance did we ever really have?
Yet the fact he didn't come here... Is being held over the head of the organisation of the Club and Coach like it's the biggest administrative mistake since the Dogs let Thurston go.

All you're doing - is reinforcing my exact point.
