Believe it or not I believe we are on the cusp of seeing a real long term improvement in the Tigers. Yes at present it is dark but how many other sides would compete in three out of four games with at least 7 starting first graders out, some of which are our stronger players. We have exciting juniors coming through and with the addition of Api and Isaiah next year combined with more experienced juniors we will see success. The boys are playing for Madge and our spine is low on confidence and experience, aside from Brooks at present, but this will improve over time. Keep the faith.

With a bit of luck, we should have had at least 2 wins

Exactly could have easily been three from four.
Melbourne was a strong effort and there for the win.
Newcastle disappointing, but they are a side in form and on the rise
Warriors, robbed by no try and lack of confidence.
Titans, great defensive effort against a strong attacking unit, with their stars in and just shy on confidence.
When we get some more troops back we will be okay and the confidence will grow with more games together, I actually think we will bet the sharks next week, call me insane.

Yeah a decent team would have jagged 3 from 4 I think. The Knights game was disgusting though.

I'm curious to see what our defence is like through the rest of the season. We've had 5 excellent defensive halves out of 8.

I'd bet money on the Sharks too. (joking)

But seriously, I can see us building, I expected us to get pumped tonight and have the Titans score at least 3 tries within the first 20 minutes and when it didn't happen I was amazed but always knew we would find a way to give up a lead and lose right at the death.

Sharks definitely have me worried and I wish that one day we could turn up and play a tough never say die game like they do and then maybe the match officials would treat us with a bit of respect and take us seriously.

If we ever get to that point and we are a mentally tough team even when the calls go against us our heads won't immediately go down and give up hope. At that point, even if we aren't the most talented or skillful team and we play for each other and with some self confidence, those little things that don't come off now will start to work for us and we start to believe that we can actually win games.

I know we have a history of putting in some gritty performances and then follow that up with a big defeat but I feel that this game against a tough Sharks side will tell us if we are actually starting to head in the right direction or if the spoon is ours this year.

we are close to the crap teams yes, should have beaten both warriors and Titans
Still don't think Newcastle will make the semis
Our defence is good and that wins games it will come with addition of 2 good players next year and Hastings and douhie back.
 
Considering the cattle that the Titans have, Fifita in particular, I was pleased that we weren't smashed. The resolve and commitment shown was a definite improvement on weeks passed, so the media will need to back off slightly. We are close and will win one in the next few weeks.
