Jock Madden

Wayne Bennett had more going for him that just coaching good teams. He is an excellent player manager and had the ability to tell a player when his time was up a year or so before it happened eg Wally Lewis. He also had a legendary recruitment officer in Cyril Connell who brought so many outstanding players to the Broncos under Bennett. Writing him off as you have done undersells his contribution to rugby league.
I never said he wasn’t an excellent player manager so nice try. He definitely was but it’s not underselling to point out he never went to a team that didn’t have multiple rep stars and a strong foundation which he built upon.

Calling him the greatest nrl coach of all time is underselling his contributions to rugby league? I guess reading comprehension is weaker than your woodwork.

Name the NRL clubs who would be interested in Maguire?
Considering there isn’t a vacancy for an nrl coaching gig, that’s a pretty stupid and deliberately dishonest question but I wouldn’t expect anything less from you. If Madge gets the sack and an nrl coaching spot opened up, and you think there won’t be interest in a guy who has won premierships in both the Nrl and super league, you are delusional.

Name me a top 10-12 team that would be demanding Brooks services. And don’t make me laugh by mentioning Newcastle and Bulldogs.

Where did I refer to him as the greatest NRL coach of all time? What I wrote was "Writing him of as you have undersells his contribution to rugby league".

On the Brooks Bashers Bore Me thread GEO wrote Cam Smith confirmed Storms interest in Brooks.

Now what NRL clubs would be interested in Maguire?

Presumably other clubs interested in Brooks have halfbacks so there aren't really vacancies but they are still interested. I don't know how my question is pretty stupid or deliberately dishonest. Perhaps it may be a little uncomfortable for you but please answer the question?

Are you thick? I referred to him as the greatest nrl coach of all time in the post you replied to. You then claimed that I was writing him off. Try actually reading before posting your poorly thought out garbage.

You suggested he only coached good teams and that is the context in which I made that comment.

If you could actually read or were capable of doing your own research, that was regarding when Cooper Cronk left and they didn't have a replacement half. So you confirmed that there was interest nearly 5 years ago? Not what we were talking about and just another example of you being deliberately dishonest.

I know reading comprehension clearly isn't your strength but go back to my previous post and you'll have your answer.

Name the NRL clubs interested in Maguire? No deflection just name them.

You still have not answered my question. What NRL clubs would be interested in Maguire? Fess up.

I already answered your question but since I'm debating a simpleton, I'll repeat. If an NRL gig became available and Madge was sacked, there'd be interest from that club. Of the 16 current clubs, Tigers are pretty much the only ones with a coach on the hot seat.

Now name me a club outside Newcastle and the Bulldogs that have any interest in Brooks?

I don't understand the appeal either.

Maybe it's loyalty towards some one who showed loyalty to us during the dark era when all our favourites were talking out of the club.

Either way, everything you said is correct and I believe this will be his final year at the club.
I thinks that loyalty plays a part for sure, for me its the level of crap directed at him, even if he has an OK game many on here blame him for the loss. Against Newcastle he did enough, though those around him failed to take advantage, (he put the ball on a platter for Laurie). I don't think Brooks is one of the elite halfbacks in the game, but unless we can find a better replacement then he is what we have. I prefer to support him that blame him for all our woes.

The way some talk, they expect everything Brooks does should lead to a try, sometime its only one or two things that win a game. Sometime even the greats sides only just win, because they convert the limited opportunities created by their haves, we don't seem to.

I see you're not going to answer my question. Well there you go. As Keating said "all tip no iceberg".
