Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think a posted about this a couple of weeks ago. If you look at Origin and International teams the centres are all fullbacks. I think the problem is the best backline players are usually end up at fullback because that’s where the big $$ are, and even wingers are seen as more important because they usually start your set from kick returns on tackle 1 or 2. There are really only a handful of top centres across the comp.

Having said the I don’t think Gildart is as bad as some are making out. He has shown some glimpses of what he can do but he needs to work on setting up his winger and on his defence. Let’s see where he is at the back end of the year. I think Roberts has been going ok too.
I dont see the doom amd gloom everyone is feeling. 4 rounds in and yes 0 and 4. I have seen improvement. If anyone really watches we have had some bad calls and a pass away from being winners. I can see it amongts the dissapointment of actually getting beat

Ur dreaming , madges days are numbered , if u can’t see that he’s lost the dressing room then I cant help u
It looked like a happy shed against the titans. Did you watch the Hastings/Gildart interviews on Matty John Show tonight?
Wow, what great boys.
They spoke highly of Madge and the team and how they are really putting in.
I thought it was an honest appraisal from the two of them in how the club and Madge are going.
A thing that stood out for me was Hastings saying that Madge blasts the team now and then as a group but not individually, he'll always take them aside and chats.
He works so hard and cares about people.
Doesn't sound like Madge has lost the team.
Madge himself has admitted he was frustrated in the past because he could see the effort at training but not putting it together for the game. Madge can't play for them. He knows their potential hasn't been met.
Madge said he's still learning as well and with new coaching support and Sheens he is seeing results in D.
Injuries, new players coming in and all happening at the same time has hampered the team heaps but they are certainly not giving in.
Madge has made mistakes especially with the bench.
I wonder if you and I sat down with Madge for dinner or a beer or two and if he could divulge all the reasons why and why nots, would we have a different opinion of him?

The bit I found interesting is Matty Johns said Oliver had been playing well. For the record I don’t disagree, I think he is improving each game. But some on here feel he should be playing Ron Massey Cup.

Well of course Gildart would be happy. He’s playing for the only club that would pick him in first grade.

we need to sign players for next year ASAP , before they go elsewhere , hence leaving the bottom lot for us , our first 2 signings in API and Papi are solid now we need to add
solid old school prop ( Simms or Marty )
Nikora
Pele
good Centre ( young guy from panthers
this would make us much more solid
Simms has signed with Melbourne.
