Same reason Mikaele only signed a 1 year deal.

Wants that Redcliffe money.
Well he could have that Dolphin money without a 1 year extension. With Lucy coming somethings gotta give. Once the low man on their second row totem pole becomes clear they’re going to want to leave.

I think its time we went out and brought 2-3 players of top quality and pay overs if we have to.. We need to turn this ship around urgently as this rubbish every week is killing our brand and fans.
Jason T, Munster, Haas, Nikora, Bird, Ponga, Walsh,
Not much available but lets make this happen as we deserve better.

Even if we don't get them it will at least lift the price to other teams.
I think that with our luck, if we turned this ship around we would end up like that ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal because the HMAS Wests Tigers has been much too long turning around.

i believe you mean high man on their totem pole.
the bottom position is for the most important person on a totem pole

The bit I found interesting is Matty Johns said Oliver had been playing well. For the record I don’t disagree, I think he is improving each game. But some on here feel he should be playing Ron Massey Cup.
Funny Matty should say that because looking at Dominic Young and Herbie Farnworth, I think they have both really improved this season.

Have always liked Herbie, but to me Dominic Young looked like he was pretty much out of his depth last season, but I have notice a much improved player this year, so who knows what sort of ceiling Oliver might have with some games under his belt.

Oliver is certainly not looking like a super star but have seen some promising offensive moves from him that could have resulted in something and as far as the defensive side of his game goes, I don't see him as any worse than anyone else we have trotted out as a centre in the last couple of seasons. Think he can only improve.

Already sounds like a wests tiger player apart from winning the game.

Cronulla’s big bopper Franklin Pele was sin-binned for a high shot in Newtown’s win over Newcastle and then penalised for another high shot just 36 seconds after returning to the field. He made up for it though when he crashed over for what ended up being the matchwinner.

Except for the match winning part hahaha

Can't see how he would be a match winner while he's on the sideline suspended.

I think so aswell. He is actually doing alot better then I thought. I think some on here are trying to back up their claims before he even played a game. I would say most of our line breaks he has been involved in. Just wish he would hold onto the ball more.
I agree. He's not terrific, not horrible. Likely to be our first-choice centre until any of Douiehi, AJ or Talau get fit.

Wests Tigers respond to claims that Michael Maguire could be heading for Super League

Wests Tigers have responded to claims that Michael Maguire could be heading for the exit.

There were claims from the Daily Telegraph that Maguire could have been heading for the door to be replaced by Kyle Flanagan’s father, Shane.
Shane Flanagan is currently in a backroom position for the St George Illawarra Dragons, but may well be tempted by the lure of a head coaching role.

For his son, Kyle, he has yet to take the 2022 NRL season by storm and has instead been plying his trade in the reserves.

That also prompted speculation that Flanagan could be involved in a sensational swap-deal with much maligned Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks.

Wests, however, have denied those rumours point blank with the club also denying that it is considering making a play for Flanagan’s father, Shane, to replace Michael Maguire as coach.

Leeds Rhinos chief executive, Gary Hetherington, is currently undergoing a fact-finding trip in Australia, desperate to find a new head coach that can turn around the Yorkshires fortunes in 2022.

Richard Agar stepped down as boss a fortnight ago with Jamie Jones-Buchanan taking over as interim head coach.

However, Leeds have just one win in eight games so far in 2022 so Hetherington’s trip has become all the more important.
