Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Watched the game. Enjoyed his aggressiveness
It's important with our roster that we have a balance, we lack a forward who could come off the bench and make an impact. Pele would give us something we lack. He is raw and still has alot of work to do to become a regular NRL player but he instantly would be an upgrade over our bench props we have currently.

Wests Tigers respond to claims that Michael Maguire could be heading for Super League

Wests Tigers have responded to claims that Michael Maguire could be heading for the exit.

There were claims from the Daily Telegraph that Maguire could have been heading for the door to be replaced by Kyle Flanagan’s father, Shane.
Shane Flanagan is currently in a backroom position for the St George Illawarra Dragons, but may well be tempted by the lure of a head coaching role.

For his son, Kyle, he has yet to take the 2022 NRL season by storm and has instead been plying his trade in the reserves.

That also prompted speculation that Flanagan could be involved in a sensational swap-deal with much maligned Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks.

Wests, however, have denied those rumours point blank with the club also denying that it is considering making a play for Flanagan’s father, Shane, to replace Michael Maguire as coach.

Leeds Rhinos chief executive, Gary Hetherington, is currently undergoing a fact-finding trip in Australia, desperate to find a new head coach that can turn around the Yorkshires fortunes in 2022.

Richard Agar stepped down as boss a fortnight ago with Jamie Jones-Buchanan taking over as interim head coach.

However, Leeds have just one win in eight games so far in 2022 so Hetherington’s trip has become all the more important.
Leeds one win from eight starts, Madge should be able to maintain that.

Anybody who can catch a ball and dent the opposition line would be an upgrade on our bench.

Off contract impact players I would prefer; Tom Gilbert, Jarrod Wallace*, Braden Hamlin-Uele, Jack Williams, Daniel Suluka Fifita.
*more experience over impact.

I wonder if we are at least looking at Bird ? He looks like he is about to extend with Dragons for 550k for 2 years. I would not have a problem with giving Bird 600k as he can cover a few positions and if we miss B Nikora there is not much left to buy..

Siosifa Talakai contract ends 2023 at the sharks. Plays 2nd row and centre. Absolute powerhouse performance this year.
Also an article about NRL clubs chasing Matty Lees from Super league (middle forward).

We should go after him. We need some quality.

What a load of garbage. Typical Telegraph crap. Our club should just cease immediately all future dealings with this scumbag publication. Give them absolutely nothing, especially once hopefully we start to have some success.
"Kyle Flanagan has yet to take the NRL by storm this year"!!!!!!! Nearly fell over reading that👍. They forgot to add 'or last year, or the year before that......'
Wouldn't even use the DT to wipe the clacker with in a crisis. What a lowlife excuse for journalism that cesspool is.

i believe you mean high man on their totem pole.
the bottom position is for the most important person on a totem pole
You may want to tell the dictionary people this. I’m not disputing the saying may be incorrect but the widely understood meaning of low man on the totem pole is the least important person.
