Its Almost Over

Apologies. I missed a cowboys and Bulldogs win (pfft). I suppose the point i was trying to make was we don't even look like beating a good team. We have gone from a middle of the road team to a laughing stock of the NRL. The coach needs to go.
Great idea getting rid of the coach.
we can try something totally left field for us . . . a re-build !!
New coach will want his own squad to be judged on. 3 or 4 years and we got dis.
And there are SO many highly qualified and experienced NRL level coaches to choose from.
And the best thing about getting rid of the coach ? . . . . instantly changes our team from plodders to winners !!!!!. Because the same old players with the same old indifference and lack of talent will have a new coach, and all of a sudden become world beaters.
If we get rid of him quick enough, we can still make the 8 this year.
Once again, great idea.
Let's get it done.

With all due respect (always love your posts) the problem that we have is people in the club think that is what you deem a successful year. To beat bottom placed teams doesn't spell success to me. Have a go at the list you posted. Apart from the Panthers (who were half strength) the rest were bottom feeders. We even got spanked by the Dogs and Cowboys ourselves. How about we start coming out and beating top teams (maybe starting this week). Just then we might put some credablity back in the joint.
Agree with what you are saying. I think you did recognize that I was being sarcastic and paying out on the club for it's continual lack of success and the fact that it is not getting better and in fact looks worse than ever at the moment.

As a Wests Tigers member and long time supporter going back very many years to the Balmain Tigers side of things I am totally frustrated as most supporters are that in this day and ago where there are so many communication forms available that we hear nothing from the club.

As a member I was previously advised by the club that I would have the benefit of regular communications and information from the club and all I have received in recent times is the Tuesday team list email which can be accessed at the same time on the internet by anyone.

So much for getting any inside information or scoops, but then I guess when we are floundering the way we are, what are they going to say? Have to say that the last couple of years I have been renewing my membership later and later all the time while I debate whether I will actually do it, but have weakened in the end always somehow convincing my self that this year will be better without having too much reason to justify that decision.

we shouldn't be accepting this rubbish although we don't have a choice do we !

Personally I think there are way too many people who are completely delusional. We don't know what is wrong with the inner workings of the club if anything is wrong. Fixing the team is not as simple as waving your wand.

Lastly everyone should have expected this performance this season. Who was picking us to be anything other than bottom 4 ?

If you were picking differently you clearly have no idea about our team and the league in general.

If you thought we were a bottom 4 team why all the delusional angst.

This is BAU as a tigers supporter.

I think all of you are massive over achievers or something. I'm not. Opening your mouth when things are a mess and trying to explain it or paint it in a different light is useless.

Shut your peep hole. Go out and keep plugging away.

If people are so upset I really suggest not watching on Easter Monday. It could get ugly. Maybe Hastings will lead us to a win but it's more than likely going to be bad.

I really hope this team including the coach stays together this season. I hope the coach works out where Hastings, Doueihi, Brooks and Madden play and that somehow we start playing some good attacking footy.

If we are going to get rid of Madge I hope we have an option lined up prior to pre-season starting and it's all sorted early and without drama.

Cant disagree with any of that. For the record this year was the first year I didn't renew my membership after 10 years. Im along time Tigers fan from the Balmain side myself and this was the first year i haven't renewed my membership. Whilst we have had some lean years in the past I feel this current coach is not up to scratch and that is the reason I didn't renew. It has become an embarassment watching us stumble and fumble along under Madges watch. I wish nothing more for him to succeed but it has become painfully obvious we are going backwards big time under him. Im sure he is a good bloke and you cant deny his passion but the game has past him by.

I thought someone on the Forum at the start of the season said that if Madge doesn't get the wins, that Kimmorly was going to get the nod to replace him ?

WT don't play a modern style of game.
No ball movement, no depth in attack, no second phase play, no speed, no bodies in motion.
WT dont seem to have a game plan. One out play then kick on the last.
Whilst I don't want to sack another coach the team has gone backwards so no point there seem no alternative to part company.
Brooks needs a change of clubs to resurrect his career. To me he is a running 5/8 not a Half Back.
Sad our best 2 players are leaving at seasons end.
Can't see many wins this season.

So it’s not an easy fix and it was expected so it’s all Aok? Geez you sound like Pascoe. No heartbeat.

Madge talked it up all off season in the press releases, how 'Wests Tigers will be playing a different style of footy' this year, and how Brooks is set to be 'unleashed' knowing AD, TT, AJ would be out for half/all season and the injury toll. Give me a break - he isn't a tactician or a people person, he's a coach out of ideas and perpetually stuck in his ways. We look lethargic because he keeps flogging them at training, it's no secret, most players are over him. You say we don't have the cattle, I say play a game that suits the team, stop trying to superimpose a style of play that's passed it's used by date, we're not Souths or Wigan...I don't want to hear about our D or 'building pressure' anymore, throw the ball around at least, that's supposed to be in our DNA, at least to go out swinging.. While I'm on a roll, Pascoe's reign of terror has to end too, we need footy smarts, not a hat salesman/marketing whiz. For 10 years the loyal punters have been getting mugged blind with promises of change around the corner - urging the fans to stay loyal, unite, commit, achieve, get on the bus, show our stripes when in fact we've gotten progressively worse in the last 4 years. Punters are walking away, this club has absolutely no shame. (Edited Post)
Kaito I always enjoy your input and see your passion....having said that, there are 2 things in your post that I have to mention....
1...If the players cant handle a brutal training session that conditions them for NRL..let them play in the womens league....
2...When the opportunity has arisen on many occasions to throw the ball around and set up an attack, some of these gifted NRL players throw forward passes, some passes over the heads, some passes at the bootlaces and give the ball back on many occasions and kill the momentum that they try to build...
Madge has faults....but these lay abouts make him look bad when he is doing his best with a rabble that have no footy smarts....

Dont keep getting baited mate...lots on here have an opinion albeit built on little sense or idea of the game....when most on here realise that Madge isnt the major problem but the quality of players he could only afford at the time to field a team with, then they may understand the job Madge has had to do in 4 years....

The whole 'we had players out due to injury and suspension' excuse is bullshit.

Every team has to deal with players being unavailable due to injury or suspension throughout the season. We are in no way special or hard done by in that regard.

These muppets just aren't trying anymore.
Yep. I'm sick of the excuses. The whole club needs to put their hands up and own this mess. Madge needs to get some new material for the press conferences too. If Madge there's one thing Madge has learnt from the playing group is that they are sub par and have no heart.
