I think you should put personalities aside for a moment batboy,they have plenty of time to sort that out in training,once out there they have to do their job one way or another..
Brooks has a personality suited to being a shy quiet type.....doesnt work when you need to give orders and yell at players....
Jackon has that personality on the field where it counts and doesnt mind telling any of the players what to do or where to go....but has a very mature personality on and off the field...
AD seems a quiet do my job type ....its yet to be seen if he can command the team around the park,its all well and good to be the go to man but he has to do his job whatever that will be,centre,fullback or bench....

Coming to Australia, Jacko was very open about how excited he was to play with AD.

Hastings unlocks Brooks game but if you watch the games closely, albeit Brooks plays better at 6 than 7 still lacks some polish to his game.

I think its too late to expect him to be Munster.... or that level, but the passes to nobody and the poor kicks were still evident.

Credit where it's due though, the field goal was outstanding and the 6 is what we've all known is his natural position.... having only officially played 2 games in the jersey I'd expect him to improve as the year goes on...

I'd leave this halves pairing as it is. For now...
AD to centre or bench and we'll see how things work out in training.

Maybe Brooks to hooker and AD to 6 towards the end of the game, easing Adam back into the game post injury.
 
I'm sure WTs will be happy to accommodate Hastings with an extended deal. We are seeing the start of a good combination with Brooks. As for Doueihi, he's a good player and must concentrate on getting himself fully fit. He knows what he has to do but it is important we don't expect too much from him too soon.

Brooks stays at 6 my dude, you think Doueihi has the legs underneath him just yet to run 70 and single-handedly drag us back into a match? I’m not so sure.

FTR; never said he won’t be our best.

These are all extremely positive developments…

I think AD will carry this club on his back for years to come.

Outstanding competitor.

His time will come.
No rush after the injury though.

Everything will work its self out.

(Maybe outside Field and Prince - Even then, Prince wasn't a barker so much)
He's bought some Footy IQ on field - We've not had that.

We've always been that side that just make some magic happen and sometimes it got us over the line... To the point it's all we've had for almost 20 years...
When the team gets older, and the magic runs out - You have to learn to play the game....

Hopefully, that's not that far off.

A much much better Defence and footy IQ was what gave us these 2 memorable mighty victories,

And I believe it's not far off that they will play this type of good football consistently,

They are growing in confidence and you can see this confidence in their eyes (coach and team), Eyes glowing like the eyes of a Tiger.

Back when they told everyone Jacko was going to play in a position he'd never played before at 13?
 
We have seen how important the on field General playing both sides of the ruck is. A genuine number 7 is hard to find. Out of all our squad members that can play in the halves, Hastings long term signature should be the priority.
 
We need more 1st grade quality players in the starting side. Not fringe graders.
Hastings, Brooks and Douihei all need to be playing (when fit).
Look at the NSW SOO team. They have often mostly have fullbacks or 5/8s in the centres because they are the best players (even when playing out of position).

If Brooks goes to hooker next year it will be like the days when JT was coach.

People like Demps have been saying AD is the man when he comes back... Demps loves him so much...not a problem if he can replace Brooks as 5/8 which in my opinion will be hard for Douhi because just maybe Brooks will get better and better as the season progresses in that role and why would you split a winning combination,this is the best thing to happen to Brooks having a real playmaker beside him...Douhi is a fine player,he really needs to cement down a centre position,his halves days for this year should be put on hold unless Brooks really capitulates in that position..
 
The coaching staff seems to have transformed the team around. When Douihei comes back, if everyone is else is still fit and the Hasting/ Brooks halves combo is still working. I’d have only play 1 hooker. Play Douihei at centre with a licence to roam (like Turbo/ Whiten do when the play SOO centre). When the hooker has a spell , Brooks fills in at DH then Douihei to 5/8.
