Kurt Picken was a development player for the Bulldogs, a Sharks' junior from the Yarrawarrah Tigers, the same junior club as Keith Galloway.

I just read he is a NSW U16 Pathways squad member with Jackson Topine, Bradman Best and Josh Schuster.

Jackson Owen is a Canberra junior we picked up directly from the Gunghalin Bulls in the Northern Suburbs. We need a few tough country second rowers.

Wheeler and Nicholas the first boys from Ball poking their heads through. will be interesting to see who comes next. I thought Matamua looked brilliant at 13 from what I saw of the game, keen to see him build on that performance.

ROUND 8 - SUNDAY 1ST MAY
Kick off:11:00am

Venue:Ziems Park, Sydney
Hi Geo, Ziems Park is Corrimal which is either via the scenic route down Stanwell Tops and Lawrence Hargreave Drive or Bulli Pass. It is a nice ground and a good morning out for those interested in the beautiful South Coast.

It shows a clear intent on how he is progressing & how we rank him.
Hope it's a kick and he gets a lift otherwise back to Union he will go.
Last season Tuki was strong in nsw cup, regularly made 100m+ and 30 tackles. Not sure why he's down this season. Perhaps suddenly being expected to be the leader of the young pack was too much for him and he lost confidence. Also remember he's a kid that went straight from high school to nsw cup. Not sure if he's even played Flegg before. Perhaps a game or two last year when we had NRL players drop back. Maybe he just needs a month dominating rivals to boost his morale and then chuck him back in NSW cup...?

Nicolas and matamua have already played a few, but yeah interesting they're playing. I wonder why the likes of Dotoi and Hill aren't playing yet, despite being aussie schoolboys and standouts at u18 level last year. Dotoi in particular would walk into this backline that gets reshuffled every week.

Tuki has definitely gone backwards this year. Needs to build some confidence again. I had high hopes that with a big off season he would have been pushing towards our 17 each week. Not to be.

It's interesting especially given he is listed on the extended NRL bench as well.
Seems strange but that could be because we have no one else to name atm.
Hope he gets his confidence back and can build from it.

Sione Vaihu played centre last week too. I agree with Dotoi in particular and want to see him in the side. I wonder whether he has gone back to NQ? Maybe eased into it with SG Ball this year and next year down for the full Flegg season?
