Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Arana Taumata was at most clubs during his short career. About 6 months at a time.
He should of carved it up he was going to start the year at 5/8 for Melbourne impressed Bellamy so much was such a talented player

I think Melbourne was stealing off a team mate

Penrith prescriptions stolen from the team doctor

Was fine with us - Left cos he got a top 24 offer from the Cows...
Not sure if he had hassles up there....
(Have a feeling he was homesick up there?)

All true but the way the Storm identify, recruit and deal with the player and his family sets them apart from most other clubs. Also they can sell success to most players over money and that is very hard to knock back. I know a player who signed with the Storm and the background information they had on him about his playing style, his strength and weakness was amazing.
Legends on their team pick potential recruits up from the airport and show them around. Bellamy meets the player and parents separate to agents. Storm tell you what they can do for you and where you fit into their program. The player I know and parents were blown away even through he had two better financial offers on the table. To have Slater as his mentor and flown back and forwards from QLD to train with NRL team and QLD Cup team. Storm just appear to do things better and more professionally. You can always get bad eggs in all organisations no matter all the systems in place to weed them out.
I wonder for how long this remains true when Bellamy leaves.

Basically told him he's our number one target and offered a top 30 spot for 2023. Sounds like we're pretty keen.
His dad played alongside Noddy didn’t he? Is that one of the factors given that he is a key figure of our development staff?
Also competing with an older but still very fresh and talented Will Kennedy probably would make a young boy consider the move away also, there are other clubs with aging / inconsistent fullbacks though. I wonder why WT?

Hodgo coached our reserve grade side a few years back...I think we came last that year
To play devils advocate we have the same coach who had the Jersey Flegg undefeated last year now coming near on last with the reserve grade side.

Luke Garner has dropped a bombshell on the Wests Tigers by quitting the club to sign with premiers Penrith.

News Corp can reveal the Panthers have planned for life after Canterbury-bound Viliame Kikau by landing Garner on a two-year deal to replace the blockbusting Fijian forward in their premiership-winning back row.

Garner had interest from a number of NRL rivals, including Parramatta, Newcastle and the Gold Coast Titans.

But in a blow for a Tigers club desperately trying to rebuild under coach Michael Maguire and head of football Tim Sheens, Garner will join the Panthers next season to fill the left-side void left by Bulldogs recruit Kikau.

Garner has informed the Tigers and Panthers of his decision.

The rangy 26-year-old has played 62 games for the Wests Tigers since making his NRL debut in 2018.
