Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Quote from Garner’s manager re his move to Penrith ;

““The Tigers have had some lean years and Luke hasn’t been able to play finals footy, but now he is joining a Rolls Royce footy side and he is keen to press for a grand final and hopefully win a comp.”

Ouch ….
Harsh, but fair in my view .

If he makes first grade.

Ganrer is a fringe 1st grader at a bottom 4 club.
His versatilty was appreciated, but his skill level means the only premiership he's see will be the KOE Cup at the Panthers...theres so many better there already with more coming through
Bad career decision for him,but forces us to upgrade

He's apparently taking a pay cut to play in Reges? I don't think so. More like a backup for Salami Kickass which has been quoted in the press.
Luke is a good player and one that we should keep but the fact that we're not indicates a clean out.
I smell a recruitment thinga majig happening.
Maybe the recruitment rumours of Bird or Nikora might eventuate.
Or something bigger 🤔😀

I wish Garner all the best at the Panthers. Being in a strong system, among a host of very talented players under Cleary's coaching may see him advance his career.

I'm a believer of not spitting on a club / organisation you are leaving as you never know if you might need that club again or someone at that club who might make the decision on your next move..
If it's true its disappointing considering the club has given up a chance to play 1st grade.

I'd send him packing now if those comments are legit

Tigers are looking at the possibility of luring Payne Haas to concord with him having a get out clause in his contract for next season if a club comes knocking he can leave for the 2023 season
Thats even crazier than the first post that there was a chance we would get him. So let me get this straight - we get him early - this year but only if we give him a get out clause for 2023 if another club ( see remaining 16 clubs ) offer him a contract that he accepts.

I went back and re read your post - i get what you ae saying now - the get out clause is with Brisbane. So we will be just 1 of 16 clubs talking to him.

geez maybe if he was as good as he obviously thinks he is he should have been dragging the tigers to the finals single handedly

So another one leaves the DEN,we will need a few good men to replace them all, our Junior players are at least 3-5 years away from 1st grade, and that's only if they develop into 1st graders?.
Its ok to say good riddance to the players that are leaving but we need to make sure that we replace them with the correct player, not playing players out of their positions all the time, maybe this adds to why we are struggling to climb the Ladder.

I think the majority of Forum Members are not disappointed that Garner is leaving. He has had a few good moments but nothing special. He will have to complete with Sorensen for a bench spot at Penrith. Apparently huge wraps on Mark Geyer's son so more competition.

Remember Michael Chee Kam. He divided the forum in relation to his ability. Moved to Souths and so far only 1 NRL appearance so maybe just a fringe player at best. Yes Chee Kam had a couple of special moments over the years but not enough.

WT need a couple of Props/Second Rowers and face battling with the Dolphins and Storm (remember they are losing 4 forwards at end of season) for these players.

Roosters have been a very strong club for a while and have Uncle Nick but I think they are in for a couple of difficult years. Have lost a lot of experience players in recent years with retirements and JWH must be on his last legs. Halves are not gelling at the moment. Keary must be one head knock away from retirement. Teddy's better years are now behind him.

WT in my opinion are on the way up and with us attracting a premiership winning hooker and second rower of the year in 2021 the signs are looking good.

Given Broncos struggle to find a decent 5/8 it does not surprise me one bit they are after Munster and maybe Haas will be let go to accommodate the signing.

Broncos are more chance of instant success than the Dolphins who have assembled
"Dad Army". A lot of players they have signed are over 30.

So Munster either stays at Storm or goes to Broncos. Easts the wildcard if their halves continue to struggle this season.

Haas would be an excellent signing for WT and make the pack one of the strongest in 2023. Fingers crossed.

Sharks should have the money for Nikora to stay as Graham will need to take a huge pay cut to remain at Sharks in 2023 and Tolman and Fifita likely to retire. Sharks have only signed Oregan Kaufusi so far from Eels so they need some forwards. Only my opinion.
