Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I guess the question is do the cowboys feel similar. Wasn’t there talk they want him early? Prehaps the other two props have taken off quicker than expected and even they (cowboys coaching staff) are not sure of the benefit of Luch on a big contract. Especially if it means losing Drinkwater who would most definitely have to be Dolphins bound if NQ don’t resign him.
Not that the original source has any likely credibility, but if the cows did want to renege on Lucy's contract then we'd need them to chip in 100-150k a season for us to sign him.
They signed him on a big money deal, he won't take a pay cut and we won't match their ridiculous offer. If they want to save 700k it'll cost them 150k a season, or 400k up front

Tbh I think he might of got his nose out of joint we didn’t take up his brothers option and then the cows came in with silly money. If he had his time again maybe he stays but then we may not have gone for Papalli. Seems happy I agree didn’t throw his toys out of the pram Moses or Matterson style.
I feel the same he was upset by his brothers exit but I feel that he is very happy at the Tiger's and knows he place in the team I think he got very lucky if it's true 700K but the white Ant was under the pump when they got Luci so maybe more desperation on the white Ant's side as well

to be fair no club would’ve taken up BJ’s option lol

One of our sharp shooter posters did mention Tuki and Liddle have been told to find a new club so I'd expect them to be on the way out.

Interesting comment regarding Luciano backflipping...

Wouldn't get ya hopes up but it'd be great for us if he could stay. He's one of our only players who's shown improvement over the years.

We desperately need second rowers and a prop or two.... (as well as centres)

To be honest with Luki and Jamai going so well not sure what the Cowboys will do next year in regards to the team.

I'd pay him more after this year's performances.

Holmes would be around
Could always start the rumour. The Cows now have serious talent that they need to retain in LL's position. They can't afford to have Luch on 700k and not have him as the main man. They already have JT on a mill Townsend on 800k and who knows what Val Holmes is on.
900k for sure. Yeah they will have salary cap issues next year for sure.

I'm with ya.

Love for him to stay and keep performing how he has.

He's been great for us and for us to lose him at his peak, was disheartening.

If we can mutually work out a refund deal with NQ and sort him out to stay that'd be ideal.

It would make my day if LL stayed to form a powerful Second Row.

The signatures of Tapine (tough and still in his prime), Olam (love watching him play) and Dykes (speed) would be a game changer for WT.

A centre pairing of T'oa and Olam with Laurie and/or Dykes at full back would give us a proper backline and hope of finishing in top 8 and competing with the better teams.

Big Joe has been great at lock this year and I would keep him at lock in 2023.

Twal is a keeper and best used off the bench.

Don't really know where AD fits into the side in 2023 but he is a very good player and captain material. Utility from the bench maybe?

I also feel sorry for Liddle but we have better coming to the club in 2023 so hopefully picks up another club in 2023. Tuki Simpkins has been a major flop.

If true glad we missed out on Bird. Too injury prone and we have been though that countless times. We really need bang for our buck and stop signing overs for has beens or never was

They have to pay minimum nrl wage, last year was around mid 70k and up. When you pick your supercoach/fantasy team your forced to put in a lot of cash "cows" to keep within the cap.
I wonder what's happening with the cows next year. The way I figure it, they're going to have some "cash cowboys" in the top 30 or start unloading.
Where's our member accountants to show us a salary table? 😀

BIRD TO STAY WITH DRAGONS
Dragons utility Jack Bird has reportedly re-signed on a two-year deal with a mutual option for a third. The club increased their offer after the 27-year-old knocked back their initial two-year offer, according to News Corp. It's understood the deal is worth around $550,000 a season

Great work WTs. Not only has he a mutual 3rd year option but they've paid more for him to stay.

I'm sure POM mentioned Joe O had taken up his player option for 2023
