Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Dolphins have taken the edge over the Wests Tigers in the battle to sign Warriors utility Euan Aitken.

Aitken has been a shining light for the Warriors this year as the former centre continues to impress since his switch into the backrow.

The Dolphins have tabled him a three year deal to be part of their inaugural squad. Aitken had another year left on his Warriors deal but was released for compassionate reasons as the club plans to make the full-time switch to Auckland next year.

The Tigers also expressed an interest in Aitken but weren’t willing to meet his wage demands. It means the Dolphins are in the box seat to land the 26-year-old.

Aitken has played 144 top grade games – including 121 for the Dragons before his switch to the Warriors last year. Aitken’s former club St George Illawarra have ruled out making a play for him.

Fartagain 😆 👏

Think I can speak on behalf of the forum and say we sick to death of madge saying the same thing.

Increase sheens scope and $$ and decrease Madge responsibility.

Really 2 and 9 about to be 2 and 10, club needs to do something.
What's above the General Manager of Football operations..?

Aiken to dolphins 🐬?
😂😂😂

They have such a bad team on paper.
Worse than ours...

Don't care about missing Aitken.
He's not the player we need.
Yea, not bothered by Aitken/Nikora tbh. 🐬in for Matterson too. Eels have lost heaps of forwards for next season.

Parramatta are facing a battle to keep Ryan Matterson with Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett launching a $1.5 million poaching raid on the Eels back-rower.

News Corp can reveal Bennett has held talks with Matterson’s management as the super coach eyes off the versatile Eels utility to be a starting member of the Dolphins pack for their entry to the NRL next season.

The Eels have been rocked by a forward exodus with Isaiah Papali’i (Tigers), Marata Niukore (Warriors), Oregon Kaufusi (Cronulla), Reed Mahoney (Bulldogs) joining rival clubs next season and Matterson could also hit the exits.

The Eels have yet to table a formal offer for Matterson, who has interest from five NRL clubs, but are ready to open talks with the 27-year-old in a bid to keep him in the blue and gold in 2023.

Matto is a good player despite being a banker.

That would be the best player on the dolphins team list.

Eels been ripped to pieces.
Hilarious 😂

There's been a few mentions on here on re-signing Tamou past this year. IMO that would be a massive mistake, around this time last year we were all lamenting his signing after his underwhelming performances. Now after a couple good games from 10 he's deserving of an extra year?

Let's not forget its an off contract year for him as well, unlike Ofahengaue who's taken up his option for next year and playing his guts out.
