I've seen a consistent version of Musgrove over the course of the season and I think he has been solid. I do think we would get more value though out of starting Utoikamanu and having Zane come off the bench to provide impact. Nothing against him he is having one of better seasons and playing well. Thoughts?

I think Steph is still getting his fitness back once he is fully fit he will be starting again

Yeah spot on. Him and Twal would compliment each other

Injury is having its impact just like with Laurie when he came back early in the year. I do think starting him will give him that confidence though. Better starter than he is off the bench.

Musgroves' carries have been quite good.. however defensively he still has the lazy effort in him.. the effort at marker just after half-time on Marshall-King was terrible.. fatigue shouldn't have been an issue..

Would like to see him off the bench playing minutes either side of half time

I reckon Stef was providing some good impact off the bench. He is hard to handle. I don't see a huge benefit to the team of swapping them.

Musgrove has been really good but I also notice the occasional defensive mistake.

I prefer him starting…
I really appreciate the difference in his style and game. I think Twal, Stefano and Tamou are all a bit the same same as far as carry’s… I think Zane change it up a bit - much more aggression.

That of course, needs to be managed in his minutes.
You wasn’t surprised when RFM and the other new prop came on the dogs got ascendancy - they run much harder than most our boys…

We need more Zane - or more of tgem

What when RFM spilled his lollies first carry ?

Tough with a bit of enforcer in him.

Don't know if it's a slight lack on condition or lapse in concentration but often gets caught with his back turned in defense.

Thinking his very good for the young forwards at training.

It may have taken him over two thousand days, but Wests Tigers prop Zane Musgrove is finally set to make his 50th NRL appearance.

Musgrove makes it to his 50th NRL Game

After making his debut for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2016, Musgrove will play against his old club in his milestone match on Saturday night at Accor Stadium.

The front-rower played 27 matches in the cardinal and myrtle before switching his colours and making his first appearance for Wests Tigers in 2020.
He’s since become a staple of Michael Maguire’s forward pack, starting at prop in each of the club’s last eight matches.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Musgrove admitted that his journey has been filled with ups and downs but he’s ready to celebrate on Saturday night.

“I’m looking forward to running out there with the boys for my 50th and hopefully we can make it a special one by getting the win”

The clash against South Sydney carries extra significance for Musgrove as it will form part of the NRL’s Indigenous Round.

Musgrove stated that it is a privilege to play in the round, especially when lining up alongside proud Indigenous men like Daine Laurie, James Roberts and Brent Naden.
It really uplifts the Indigenous community and it’s going to be a massive occasion, so I’m really looking forward to it”.

While he has previously represented his own Samoan and Maori culture, Musgrove is looking forward to the opportunity to celebrate the Indigenous heritage of his partner, which has now been passed onto Zane’s young son.

With this in mind, Musgrove is particularly keen to pull on the Wests Tigers new indigenous jersey, which was designed by Newcastle artist Tyler Smith.

Smith’s design honours the people who have played a role in the foundation of the club, along with those who will continue to serve as custodians of the Wests Tigers into the future.

Seven seasons 50 games?

Yeah, I had to look it up as well to double check. Surprised by that.
We need him to have an injury free run he is just starting to get some positive form emerging for us. Going to be a crucial cog over the coming years for us.

I actually think it's smart of Madge to start him still regardless if Stefano is coming back from injury slowly and on minutes watch.

Next year if Tamou leaves Musgrove right now starts next to Stefano.

Musgrove has next to no miles in the body for the last few seasons and we need him to get his body use to week in week out footy. His best years are ahead of him as well.
