last time I checked it was a formal liberal national coalitionSounds rather salty. That's the way the preferential voting system has worked since day dot. Also, the Liberal party only took 23.7% of the vote, unless you're counting the Nats as well who are a separate party.
And yes, the Liberal party would be more palatable to Labor voters if they were moderate. They would get more Labor voters alone if they had a decent climate policy. A lot of people went ALP and Greens on climate as a single policy issue.
