Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Of course he's coming for the money. There are other aspects but I'm sure most of it is money and that's okay. As long as they put in for the club when they get here.

Any player that leaves their current club to go to a bottom 4 club, is either:
- out of options (Hastings, Joffa for example)
- wants to play for a certain coach (Api, Maumalo have a previous relationship with Madge)
- Go to the highest bidder (TPJ, David Fifita, Papali'i etc.)
Of course he is coming for the money there is no problem with that and by all reports and the form he is in we are under paying him the Tigers have to be smart and over pay two or three players get the team winning a few games have a few juniors come in and and get a few sold first grade players then we can play market value

For your information;

180 Centimeters =
5 Feet, 10.87 Inches
(rounded to 4 digits).

So Brooks is only 1.13 inches than 6 feet tall but is 3 kg heavier and just as strong as Campbell.

Did you actually read what I wrote? - Or you just looking for a barney.
I didn't even mention (Or think about) Brooks....

I offered my opinion on Campbell.

You still haven't informed me where what I wrote was wrong?

If that would be the case how are teams at the bottom of the competition ladder ever (or how long) going to take to reach top four standard?

You are wrong. According to their club website details;
Campbell is 183 cm and 80 kg.
Brooks is 180 cm and 88 kg.
height and weight don't matter, he isn't vocal enough to entertain a fullback role. couldn't do it in 7 and would be worse in 1. hard to set a D line if your fullback isn't counting the numbers and yelling out

I was told by people at the club that Chammas had a beef with Madge. There was a lot of anti-Madge stuff from Chammas the past two years. I was also told that the club does not share information with Chammas.

Aside from that, there is a clear difference between having an opinion about Madge (or anything) versus making a claim of facts about Madge (or anything). I very rapidly lose respect for journalists who try to conflate their opinion or guesswork with an article written as if it's based in fact. This is the realm of Pooper, Buzz, Chammas, Weedler - the "sensationalist" journos who attempt to portray that they have inside information, without revealing any facts or sources.

It then becomes a big deal if you find out that those journalist may have an agenda. For example is Buzz Rothfield mates with Shane Flanagan and pushing a certain narrative to assist his mate getting a job? And then it does become very relevant if that journo is also proven to have lied or made stuff up, or be totally incorrect in a statement they make - they lose all credibility.

Whether or not a journo has valid opinions is an entirely separate discussion.
NRL jurnos are employed to sell papers and increase rating. The days of quality sports journalism is long gone. It’s all about headlines, I guess it’s just like reality TV, it’s all done to a proven formula.

Many people today would lose interest after one paragraph of a article by Roy Masters because there were not three headlines…but it’s a sign of the times

Since there were players doing all the things a halfback is meant to do, yes. (Talking, leading, directing, controlling.) All the things Brooks has never been able to accomplish, hence he lost his precious coveted halfback position
All this Brooks bashing is rediculous. 1,6,7,9 are critical and opposition sides target these players. Has Brooks reached the heights of the best ?--NO! but he has always been one of our best. With an ordinary pack, lousy fullbacks, ordinary hookers 5/8s and locks, the biggest threat to opposition sides was Brooks, so the attention from the opposition was always on him. Playing with such a lousy side would not give him much confidence. With Hastings coming, its taken a lot of this pressure away, i think he will get better as the side improves and the unfounded attacks diminish.

I agree Sleeve, however

We are a squad that's finally getting some identity and playing for the full 80.

Is Brooksy (Who I really like) worth the money that he is on?

I dont want to underpay Hastings or loose Madden..

I Remember Jimmy Smith on SEN discussing on air last year regarding a Chammas article....
That it's almost to the point of a personal vendetta

Too long. I agree it's a problem.

A player like Tedesco couldn't do it for us, and Ponga couldn't do it for Newcastle.

Given the way the NRL is now, the only way to oust the top teams is by having an outstanding crop of juniors and keeping the right ones. Even the top juniors go to the top teams these days: (Sualli, Walker, etc.).

A difference of 1.13 inches could be important to some.

I personally think Chammas is a moron - and I did not have that opinion until I saw him on TV, with his moronic comments and moronic arguments. It really has nothing to do with Michael Maguire or the Tigers. I think Danny Weedler and Pooper are morons too, though Weedler doesn't appear to have any specific anti-Tigers angle in his stuff.

I try, if possible, to ignore most everything that they say or write, and certainly I will not watch any pundit show like NRL 360 or Total Footy if morons are given a platform to spout their moronity.

Did anyone see the bit in the paper on Sunday that the WT'S entertained Arthur Laundy in the Chairman's box on Friday night he's good friends with Tim Sheens and is also a mad Tigers fan. He's pee'd of with the Doggies for sacking he's good friend of 20years Barrett and his sponsorship with them is up this year its apparently worth $500K maybe Arthur might be our next Doggies signing🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏
