We have to be very confident in signing a particular back rower. There's no point in always having money up our sleeve 'just in case' someone good becomes available AND wants to sign with us. We need to go hard at a couple of big fish, if we miss oh well,we move on. It's ok missing out on Aitken by not offering an extra 50k a year if we are getting someone else. But if we end up missing all of our targets and playing Seyfarth in the back row that's a spectacular failure. Aitken would be our new Garner, solid but unspectacular
And make no mistake Blore is our backup second rower for next season. We will not be going into next season expecting him to be starting every game. No coach would place his neck on the line with a guy as injury prone as him. We simply have to sign an experienced back rower. If not a starter then at least a solid pro.

So we have a back row of Paps & Joe O.
Realistically we need to find 1 player and we are obviously on the look out with links and rumours. We also need to find depth which is Blore and there is potential depth in the juniors.
I agree we need to recruit in the back row but it’s not panic time..

Surprised to hear lodge is getting paid $ 700 k not to be at the warriors , nrl360 speaking on it last night , sounds fishy you ask to leave and they say yep leave now and we pay you , but more fishy is he is plating in another code , nothing wrong with that but I wonder if it was hears your money but no NRL for you the remainder of the season or is there something else going on , very weird .
back on players we need , well we need to get cracking and but at least I decent back rower , 1 Decent prop , and another Back , with Api and Papi coming we are stil min 3 good solid first graders shy of top 8 team , also Priority number 1 extend Hastings for 2 more years as we will build around him ,

Would be good if he could spend enough time on the field to be able to develop some of that potential, which incidentally I believe will happen but only if he gets game time consistently.
I don’t get some on this forum , to think that u only need to sign one more backrower and we are all good , we are losing 3 and have just signed one , blore is not in the picture until he plays 10 games in a row , we need at least 2more backrowers , and don’t forget there is injuries and form lapses during the season , this is why we have not been in the finals because we lack depth

What about going after David Fifita .. Titans are considering letting him go and paying half his salary .. !! Currently on 1.2M .. thoughts
I believe its not his fault that he is not playing to his potential .. they have him playing out wide, but they are not getting the ball to him at all .. !!

Keep in Mind that 1 of those leaving is Tuilagi, who is not really an NRL standard player based on performance this year, and it isn’t that desperate.
Even if we sign 1 decent second rower and 1 we bring up from lower grades we will still likely be better off. Of course 2 more quality 2nd rowers would be great though.
