Madge did not cost us tonight. As with most years, once the mid season grind kicks in we go backwards. We just don’t have the class to turn momentum.
Give Madge a chance with a great backrower and a top no9 and than judge him
Wise words.

However this club isn't going anywhere with Brooks in it.

AD back soon,
The pressure will be on.

I’ve been Madge supporter for good while now but I think we are at the crossroad now.
It’s hard for me to say this but I just can’t see him surviving.
Change is needed …. fresh ideas, new approach call it what you want but to see this team come out from the break and providing “Groundhog Day” performance & surrender first half leads …. forwards playing like powder puffs ….. edge continually making same mistakes over and over.
Naaah …..

I’m challenging whether we have really improved at all this year. We’ve had some spirited wins and showed signs of playing for 80 minutes but we are 3 wins from 12 games. After 12 rounds last year we were 5 wins. Are we kidding ourselves that we have turned a corner? Doesn’t feel like after tonight’s effort.

Payten is who the club stupidly missed out on
I think we may take Morris or wolfe
Are you kidding me??? The goldfish ‘Morris’????
I can’t stand Madge’s lack of effective bench rotation, playing 60 minute players play 80. He is done. But I would still have him over those two.
Flanagan or Ceraldo or stay with what we got and wait till there’s a better fish in the water. Flanagan for me, he’s a hard arse and won’t take these powderpuffs weak efforts in defence.
We need to change, like he did with the guppies! They were just like us and he got some steel into them.
Man we had no line speed in defence all night, no effort plays. Just soft as

Adam Doueihi isn't going to be the same player he was last year. It takes up to two years for an athlete to properly recover from an ACL reconstruction, that is if they recover at all.

Prime example of current players is Clint Gutherson. Did his ACL in 2017, returned to play after 9ish months and was pretty bad (Eels won the spoon in 2018). 2019 he came good again. Billy Walters another. Did his ACL in 2020, came back in 2021 and was terrible in the games he played for us. Now in 2022 is playing decently for the Broncos.

AD isn't going to be a magic fix. You really need to lower your expectations or you will be bitterly disappointed.

I agree with this.

Flanagan changed the Sharks by getting them on a doping program and being over the salary cap every year he was there. That was his claim to fame.

Madge is walking dead man , he can’t possibly keep, his job if we keep loosing , we as a club can’t keep running 9th , 12 th etc we need to be going the other way and if it means a change in coach after 4 years so be it , winning is what it’s all about

It depends on the vision and plan. Sheens doesn't react to outside noise.
Sheens has mentioned a 3yr plan, he was also very very open about expectations this year. They didn't set a target on wins and loses for this season it was about the teams performance improving. Changing our structures and setting ourseleves for the next few years. He also said the aim is by year 3 we challenge for the title.

To me this indicates if the team as they are show signs of improvement and we manage to improve the quality in the side which is somewhat happening next year (Api/Papa heck even Naden) then next year will be the year Madge gets judged on W/L not this year.

The team didn't gel in the opening rounds & I have no doubts Madge was in serious trouble, the wins against the Eels and Souths showed something and since then we have been somewhat up and down during games which losing a fullback, wingers, halves, centers, backrowers and hookers & most teams would be.

I think Madge is safe this year if the team continue to hold tight in defence & do improve the attack with some key players due to come back in the backend of the season. If they slip & regress to the early part of the season he will be gone.
Similar things were said in the off seaon. Madge would be judged on this season.

I posted a few times last few days questioning our right side selections fearing they would be overrun by Walker Johnson and co and suggesting put
our best on field . Madge 4 soft tries on our right edge and a 0-32 2nd half hurts .I got to admit that the weak pack surprised me got bent back badly

New excuses every year.... a coach in his fourth year who has taken the club consistently backwards should not be afforded a fifth chance. If we continue like this he cannot be here for 2023.
I agree but we have been garbage for 15 years...

Madge started with a very low base.

Starford and AJ are not up to it and the use of the bench is diabolical
