Softness returns

Please sign Lodge.
Something funny with that Lodge deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I hear he has been paid out by the Worriers something like 700K which was for this year and next.

Why would they do that? I would love to know the background.

Doesn't appear to be signed anywhere else and is playing second grade rugby union somewhere.

Is that because the Worriers deal prevents him from playing for any other Rugby League club until 2024 season?

If anyone has any inside knowledge I would love to know because it really seems strange to me.

Musgrove, Stef and Seyfarth on the bench watching as Latrels brother and Havili destroyed us

That was coaching and use of the bench
Well who would you have put in our pack of forwards to negate that mate ? , who do we have better that the coach could have selected??

Hank, I too have read that that 700k comes off their cap for next year...if that's right then he's off limits to other clubs isn't he??
This is weird!

How about the coach simply uses his bench to counter the way the game is heading. It's a better idea than stubbornly sticking to plan and bringing impact players on when the game is lost.

I think some trades need to be made.

Not long ago I asked for the list of top 10 trades this year. If you can't find that go back further. There was no response.

The reason being trades don't really exist in the NRL. It's not like other sports where big trade deals occur.

Trades are not an option.

Both these guys can make way to strengthen the roster, send em to Canberra for Tapine and Young.

This isn't possible. It's not fantasy football. The NRL doesn't work that way.

I've said previously Liddle has been told he can leave and no one has taken him up. No club wants him.

Yep strange situation, but what it may do imo, is give Warriors a chance to get some of that money back if another club buys his contract. Don’t know anything about his contract or any additional exit contracts he may or may not have, but it sounds right?

I just want to feel hope but struggling to see light at end of tunnel.

I don't know how you fix it. The trading idea comes up all the time and it's delusional.

We need to improve recruitment and retention.

I feel hooker is our worst position and we have Api next year which is a huge step forward. IP is great as well but we need more players. We can't rely on Blore to come good.

The Ambush was told that Liddle was allowed to look elsewhere, same with Mikaele - and Mikaele signed with ESL about a week later.

I cannot comprehend why people keep mentioning Liddle as a trade deal. We will let Liddle go and we'd probably even throw in money to help him out.

No one wants the kid at this point.

It's beyond bizarre.

I feel sorry for Liddle. He has a lot of positives to his game. The problem is all too often he throws a poor pass.

But no club can just scrap a multi year deal. Except unless your Souths and your marquee players take the sacrifice of no longer being paid for their remaining contract and the nrl pay your players out in full under medical retirement. But yeah no other clubs can do that, legally the contracted player is entitled to that money.
There is something that has long been forgotten in this; Lodge activated his 2 year player option at the Broncos before being moved on to the warriors that was for a contract until end of 24 season.
I wonder if part of this paid out contract includes the remaining contract he was getting from the Broncos?

Nobody wants him.
Not even the Tigers.

@pawsandclaws1 - all Madges fault?

Ball handling skills of a clown just starting juggling for the first time at clown school.

It's not Madges fault. It's the step up from the lower grades to the top grades especially in a critical position.

The poor service is unacceptable at first grade level.

Simpkin is only a little better as well.

Yuk, I've got a headache.
Anyway, I don't want him so I don't care. 🤣

Blame the players then , not the coach , do u think for a minute the pack of forwards we have could do better for a different coach? I wouldn’t think so

So your understanding is that this pack can dominate with the right coach who understands the bench rotation like you do , anyway that’s your opinion

I think he is just stating they got the bench rotation wrong. That is on the coach.

Im going to throw this out there for you guys to chew on....Liddle had very good potential when first in grade,I think he has had 2 shoulder recons and a knee recon...
Now do you know why his passes may be bad if his shoulders arent as normal ?..he is talented and injury prone, maybe other clubs know it...ESL may be his next port of call...
Shame really, good kid and a trier, but no luck with the body in a high contact sport...

Simpkin vs Liddle
We simply are not getting as much from either of our dummy halves in either A or D as most of the other teams are. If you were rating the dhs in the comp, unfortunately ours would be in the bottom few.
This same argument could probably hold up in virtually every position on the field.
Hence the result is, we have a poor squad with no players who would rate even in the top half of their respective positions.
Not a giant leap to understand why we don’t win very often!!!
