Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You're Drunk....
Next years squad is far superior to the one Madge inherited.
Agree …. we have a very good core group of 15-20 players. We are adding very good recruits in API and Papi. Some of our juniors are showing real promise.
What we lack is motivation, enthusiasm, concentration and direction. Guess that’s on the Coach & support staff to teach and ultimately players to learn.
I can’t see either being implemented properly.

Yeah it wasn’t innocent people.
It was DDers who owed $ to other DDers and I did enough to know it was not for me. But I’ve paid, I’ve repented, and I mean it. And no I do not want my club to sign me either.
But we have gotten off topic.
Still no to lodge for me, Tigers can do better. Hopefully.
If I give you the address of a dude who has fraudently taken about 2 million over 5 years, can you get it back for me?
His first name is Luke..

No way he’d piss himself for sure.
Joke’s aside I did mention “it was not for me”. It’s scary on both sides. I am no tough guy, I have always had a lack of emotion and conscience which lead me down a bad path, but the voices in your head are yours, and you can change what the say and you can refuse their requests.

Still a No to lodge, he did to innocent people with no remorse.

I think we have a good pool to cover positions 1-7
Laurie , Nofoaloma ,Roberts, Douehi ,Naden, Maumalo ,Peachy, Hastings ,
Brooks,Toa ,AJ ,
But next year forwards, Musgrave, ,Utoikimano, Papalii, Korisau ,Twal ,Offenghaue , Simpkin, Nu Brown ,( dont feel Tamou will want to continue and Liddle appears to be on outer)
That's 19 so we need 2 more forward recruits who are high class and not loose cannons like Lodge Hetherington
That's makes 21 and the best 9 from cup /flegg etc to make 30 for cap
Probably need fresh face to coach who makes whole squad work their butts off and all get along with each other

Really don’t understand some on this forum , they don’t want this bloke or that bloke because he stuffed up , but they are happy to see them play against us . We need hard heads to turn this team around , lodge is as good a front rower running around that is free to play right now , and for the record just check the knock back box over the last couple of weeks , it’s nearly full .

Cards on the table, I want Madge to stay BUT getting Cameron Ciraldo, who many say is the next best coach coming through plus has been pivotal to Penrith's success (not to mention his relationship to many of their players), is not a terrible outcome...

But surely keeping Madge till end of the year (Ciraldo has said he's not budging from Panthers till 2023) is better than a caretaker coach for that time. Even just financially, paying one coach is better than paying two... right?

Barrett was going to do great things at the Dogs after being understudy at Penrith too. Penrith have had a lot of things go right for them at once, I don't expect Ciraldo to be another Bellamy.

If Madge is going, no coaches on their L plates.

Why does getting rid of Madge change anything right now? We were next to no chance of even coming close to making the 8 this year. I see this year as a good opportunity to blood younger players - Tupou, madden, Simpkin further.

Changing the coach will achieve nothing. What happens when next year Ciraldo/Flanagan don't take us to the eight? Logically they should be turfed but then people will be talking about inheriting madges squad etc. etc. And it's back to years and years of mediocrity and excuses.

If Madge does nothing next year - with a competitive and hopefully injury free squad then absolutely move him on.

Penrith said the same things about Barrett - TWICE!!

I missed the posts where they were happy to see them play against us?

Was it perhaps that the fatigue of our forwards in the second half and not the enthusiasm, concentration that was the cause of the wheels to fall off?

I don't know for certain about the differences in size and strength of their forwards and ours,
but to me there appeared to be significant differences between the two.

For the lighter weight forwards there is a limited time and then there can be no amount of
motivation, enthusiasm, concentration that is going to overcome the power and fitness of their opposing forwards.

Tom Burgess, ran for an incredible 235m and Mark Nicholls Jai Arrow and Kolomatangi were all solid and even their bench players, Havili 175m and Sele made 146m in just under 30mins ???

I believe that, having fit and larger heavier forwards would generally lead to greater team success.
