Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Instead of Staines, we should be going hard for Ray Vaega. Blacktown winger that scored a hattrick against us in the trial for Manly. Young, explosive and athletic. Can play wing or centre. View attachment 1327
he looked good in that trial, has quite a few ahead of him at Manly so can’t see him cracking the NRL team anytime soon. Unless they have multiple injuries and Burbo moves into the backrow. …having said that their backrow is stacked as well.

F/B reporting that Brown has left as Warriors' coach and being replaced for the rest of the season by Stacey Jones.
Rough times for Warriors, honestly might be some of the harshest playing conditions of any clubs history.

  • No home game for 2 years
  • covid completely cuts them off from family and society
  • Players leaving mid season
  • Coach leaves mid season
  • no telling when you’ll be allowed to go home and live there full time
In all seriousness imagine not seeing your kids, family and friends for 2 years, that would be bloody soul crushing (I’m aware it’s possible some of them went home in the off season)

I truly feel sympathy for them all and hope they find success in the future, (Just not when tho they play us at home in July)

They still did better than us.

Payton leaving hurt them.

They need a leg up, I think, just to get them competitive again. Possibly, as suggested by Gus a while back, all games in '23 in NZ. Plus maybe a larger cap for '23 & '24, just so they can get themselves a Joey Manu or equivalent.

Give 'em the boot out and get back to an even number of teams.
It is, after all, the National RL ...not the International RL.
Pasifika players will still flock here (most probably majority born here now).
Why do we need to prop them up when we have struggling teams here?

interesting Twal's comments on instagram on the photo of Douhie doing the weights "welcome to the middle cuz" ... number 13 anyone
Won't be for some time.

However, Carayannis said that the club doesn’t want to risk the health of one of their brightest stars for a season that has already all but finished.

“No, he won’t play,” Carayannis said to 1170 SEN Breakfast.

“This was his due date to come back but some at the club want to take a safety-first approach.

“He’s only 23 and he’s coming back off the back of a second ACL (injury) on the same knee.

“Their (the club’s) plan is to let him rehab for a little bit longer but there were some suggestions that he would miss the whole year.

“Adam is definitely keen to come back before then.

“He’ll be on the sidelines for at least another month before we see him play again.”

They say waiting every week 9 months after ACL reco before return to sports lowers your chance of re-injury. If we can push him back until after the 2nd bye, it would give him enough time I think.
