Would like Madge to go build the Warriors, he's just what they need.

If we get Brown... I'm out.
I think Madge would be better off going for a head of football role for his next appointment. especially if at the Warriors. Can do everything needed to rebuild a culture without getting the brunt for the wins and loses.
Nathan Brown could do worse to consider the same.

Don't see advantage of dumping him now unless players were against coach and that mattered to administration and they expect that a new coach can win with this team.

Problem with sacking now is that it makes us look like a basket case and undermines authority of future coaches by showing they can be sacked at any time when poor form happens, rather than committing to a coach and backing that vision.

Think you can maintain credibility by sacking coach at end of a season.

Only thing that changes all this is if team starts winning. Anything short of that and the administration needs to be sacked in the offseason.

This is now on administration. We need to win games or you need to go. You've said the coach you hired is the problem. This second half of season better prove that or you guys are clueless and incompetent.

Problem is Madge says he listens to people but he really doesn't and it shows so being the head of football would be a disaster and England would his best option

I am a bit surprised by the strength of some of the negative responses to Madge's sacking - leaving for the Dolphins forum, tearing up membership etc.

I would have been supportive keeping Madge on until the end of the year, however we have to accept that the writing was on the wall with a 3 / 9 start to the season. There is no doubt that Madge was put on notice in 2021 that certain KPIs would need to be met, and that despite being fairly competitive at times, the Tigers have struggled to make much impact in 2022.

This is now compounded by (a) two other clubs in search of a head coach, and (b) key players and new recruitment targets wanting some certainty over the head coach role in 2023. That's the reason you do it mid-year. Tigers much of their horse trading in the off-season, and you don't want to be doing that after missing the finals (again) and endless off-season speculation about the coach (again).

Also - sacking the coach mid-year lets the regular football news cycle take over, rather than the extended circus that would occur in the off-season.

I would only be upset with this decision if Tigers have not actually yet lined up a replacement. I'd rather keep Madge than hire the scraps from the pile of Head Coaches Past. Time will tell what the replacement decision is. I was originally of the opinion that Tigers would only move Madge on if they secured their preferred replacement.

Mate this club is a shitfight, they'd be still fumbling through the rolodex to call any prospective candidates. It just stinks of a kneejerk reaction.

He should have been let go at the beginning of the year if he wasn't going to be given the year. Guys like Morris & Flanagan were still available. Most assistants generally are allowed to walk if they secure a head coaching position so I'd wager if Ciraldo was the least bit interested he could have been landed too.
