Wests Tigers Coaches

your username certainly makes sense considering that post! welcome to the forum.

Ciraldo would be well aware of the potential issues at the Tigers, look who he works under. he's a big boy that can make his own mind up, but the facts should swing it our way

- half decent roster with two marquee players on the way
- Centre of Excellence about to reach completion
- Matts, Ball, Flegg and Cup all contain exciting talent
- young kids on the cusp like Pole, O'Kane, Tumeth, Kautoga, Tupou, Scolari, Ngatikaura
- opportunity to link up with former Penrith players in Laurie, Tamou, Naden, Blore

throw in a 5 year deal and the ability to work with Tim Sheens and I think it swings it our way. I could be wrong but I feel as if he's got a great oppportunity to kick off his career in a decent fashion.
Exactly the positivity I am in need of - lets hope he is sold on it!

Dogs are in direct competition with us for coaching and playing talent. They are (more than likely) chasing Ciraldo and Gus would be aware he is our top target.

He comments about our treatment of Maguire, especially when he flippantly says that "6 players are ready to walk" without any evidence. I think its a conflict of interest, in that he is undermining our club to put his club in a better light for prospective coaches and players. Its also hypocritical looking at Gus' history of sacking coaches - Griffin, Cleary and Barrett.

May im just a conspiracy theorist and a bit sensitive though 😂😂
Fair chance you are....
He's done nothing but defend Madge.

And he's right, They're mis-reading the room....
Plenty hear think we'll lose players without Madge.

Again, He's got 10 Years history working with Ciraldo, Dogs are a much stronger club than us generally... And are well backed by their leagues club.
If Gus wants Ciraldo, And Ciraldo wants Gus and the dogs - Nothing we're going to do is going to change it.

They've also been without a coach longer than us... I would suggest if the above was happening - It's happened.

Now the shouting, swearing, rants and pseudo army training drills have left the dressing sheds, how are those forum members who believe some of our players are soft etc going to feel if the new coach has a more measured approach to our playing roster? I am referring to a coach who has the attention of the players in the shed, speaks in measured tones without all the other crap. Thoughts?
Thankfully we don’t have to be concerned about any of our players leaving to sign with Melbourne.

Gus is self serving and almost every public comment has proved to be false of late.

Who would be desperate enough to work under him

Fair enough. I've just got a bit of a bugbear about people with prominent roles inside clubs, especially ones which involve the actual running and recruitment, having influential positions in the media at the same time. I think its a conflict of interest and very hard for them to remain impartial. Again, a very pessimistic view.

Who’s picking daisies in reserves apart from Noffa?
Anybody not playing first grade . I’m not saying they should be, just there’s a chance , that some might have been not that great because they felt they were no chance at first grade .
It should give people hope. Even if it’s false hope .

That's the whole point - Ciraldo has worked in the Penrith system under Gould for many of Gould's last 8 years. He would know what Gould is like and be alert after what he did to Barrett (whom he worked with at the Panthers) the choice is a devil you know vs the devil you watched self implode on Foxsports! My money is on us rather than Dogs for the simple reason that there are good signs HM GF victory, COE, Api & Pap coming, Raw talent in a fit Ute & Blore, Hastings & a fit AD and Laurie to shine. But then again, we thought we had him...

Well the 5 year deal essentially backs up everything Sheen’s said in the presser.

- He mentioned currently have a 3 year plan for our juniors (who are currently around 16/17) which would put them in grade by about that 3rd year. The extra two years then allows the coach to develop them into proper first graders, properly making us a development club.

At least he is walking the walk and not just speaking cliches. It’s a risk but I see the logic behind it and shows the club actively putting a plan in place.

Sheens will have a plan otherwise they wouldn't have let Madge walk away. This is a calculated decision.

They're heads are now on the chopping block with no one to blame.

Im pretty sure we will see Ciraldo announced soon for 2023
I could be way off (usually am) I'd say a deal has already been agreed with ciraldo. It's just media optics now until the official announcement.
