I just can’t see Ciraldo coming. He would know that losing clubs see him as a honey pot along with his skill and dedication as a defence trainer.
He’s far better off listening to the inducement talk and getting on with his job. His kids need their dad and their dad doesn’t need to be put through the meat grinder for the benefit of others.
Stay at Panthers Cameron Ciraldo and enjoy your job mate!!!
We're a sleeping giant. Our juniors, our districts, our balance sheet, 2 x COEs. It makes WTs' attractive.

Plenty of comments in this thread seem to be made with next to no knowledge on what the responsibilities of a board are or how members of a board are selected.

While not making the finals hurts for every supporter, the board have done their job of ensuring we survive as a club.

Just a few short years ago we had major infighting, factions and were bleeding money badly.

Now we have a unified board and a club - which unlike many in Sydney - actually turns a profit each year despite not making the finals.

As a fan I'd rather see us set for the long-term than going broke and needing to move to Perth.

We're set to be in a very strong long-term position once we get our footy operations running better.

This does not fit the emotional "sack em' all" war cries but sums up where we're at.
Can you provide the details of turning a profit every year?

Big difference between surviving and thriving. Some just have higher standards than you, and the clubs administration.

Exactly. That's why I cannot understand why the club is talked down.
I would imagine criticism is based on historical performance more than the lack of facilities.
I still can’t see Ciraldo coming.
The way I see it..Sheens had no choice but to rubber stamp Maguire’s dismissal to appease the board. I know you like to think It was a Sheens master stroke and he has a brilliant new coach signed, but I’m waiting for an announcement.

Our club has a different view fortunately and this is the second time he has been headhunted. We must see something in his ability to warrant this interest.
Our clubs view to date has been a fantasy that gives the fans false hope on the back of coaches thrown to wolves when it all goes to crap - with no else held accountable.
Until the club assembles a squad capable of competing against the best squads Ciraldo will face the same challenges as every other coach who has a team that lacks quality and depth. With the right players he could succeed without them he won't.

Performance. Wests can't run a football club.
The board had a tough job after the financial demise of the Balmain side for which was an abomination for which they had nothing to do with and has resulted in a potential reduction of income of the JV to bring in the bacon and keep that side included while retaining control of the former Balmain Leagues for the club to prevent third party parasites.

For football matters they have delegated to a football manager and coaching staff.

If the board must be questioned it must be on the basis of the people that they have delegated to i.e. Sheens .

To be honest Cleary forward I'm happy with all the coaching and assistant selections. Player recruiting must be the primary responsibility of the football manager and head coach.

Things just haven't worked out till now.

Trouble is half the joint venture didn't survive financially so the administration have to compensate for that.

So the club had to survive that calamity.

Took them a bloody long time to have a good football manager.
