We never learn!I think 5 years is too long.
G'day @PJ2 There seems to be some sort of an anomaly with your user name.Ah right, willow.....yep😉
Yep, he is 100% good bloke no question.I spoke to him eons ago when he was still with Penrith. He is a genuine bloke, nothing fake about this guy.
A better one is the broncos . Milford was in origin , they’d just lost a premiership , had an extremely youthful team .Actually not too far fetched ….. he’s on top now and hasn’t a long term contract.
And early success with young squad is a very hard to maintain if / when wheels start wobbling later on in the season. Just take Gold Coast as an example ….. they have similar roster but …… ???
Offers for his services would now be at a peak …. and he may be tempted.
Re Your 5. best junior squad coming through in 20 yearsLet's spin it this way. After watching sheens interview ciraldo would be crazy not to take a 5 year deal at the tigers. Points
1. Best if not one of the best head of football in the game. Tim sheens who won't medle in selections
2. Salary cap best it's been in 5 yrs. Heaps of space next year
3. State of origin quality hooker and second rower next year
4. Jackson Hastings at the club. Say no more
5. Best junior squad coming through in 20 yrs
6. Ciraldo knows the west and how it ticks
7. 5 year plan. No pressure 2023 and 2024 can implement what every system he wants
8. New facilities
It's a no brainer for him. He would be crazy not to take it. This club is a sleeping giant. Finally it has a plan...
I think the Storm is an example of the coach win with the team he selects - note no expensive "origin" players, all developed "in house"!I saw the words "development coach" written on a big straw.
Then, I saw many of us clutching at it . . . then walking away happy.
So once the new bloke develops these players to NRL, he still has to coach them to be a winning team.
Or have we conceded that it's the roster that wins and not the coach ?
Built not bought?I think the Storm is an example of the coach win with the team he selects - note no expensive "origin" players, all developed "in house"!
No way. Coaches like Maguire. Like him but wouldn't work hereToovey is what we need.
I ate him like neo in the matrix.
As I understand it, Sheens has spoken to one yesterday and will speak to the other you mentioned today.Ciraldo and Morris I'd say would be the only two we would be looking at and I would say at least one of them would take the job. hard to say if Woolf has runs on the board developing youngsters when he's got a St Helens side that was built by Holbrook and has a stacked Tongan side as well.
the only other potential candidate is Payten, but I doubt he leaves North Queensland. Noddy, Gardiner or Lambkin might be worth a look but I'm not sure if any of them are ready for first grade coaching at this point.
