Wests Tigers Coaches

Cc has never been off the table.

Has the soft public persona, but I’ve heard he’s no soft touch in camp.

Whatever the intrigue, he sure has the Hitler youth performing.

Speaking of Ivan, he’s been making some very soft and socially responsible statements lately.

Finally pulling his talons out of his backside.

He could go all hippy or pc like King Wally.

Ciraldo and Morris I'd say would be the only two we would be looking at and I would say at least one of them would take the job. hard to say if Woolf has runs on the board developing youngsters when he's got a St Helens side that was built by Holbrook and has a stacked Tongan side as well.

the only other potential candidate is Payten, but I doubt he leaves North Queensland. Noddy, Gardiner or Lambkin might be worth a look but I'm not sure if any of them are ready for first grade coaching at this point.

Don't think payton would work being contracted next year.

Don't think he'd do a Ivan.

Need someone to start this year

I have heard Payton is well liked by the Cowboys playing group and they all get on well.

He addressed JT issues as he was getting too big for his boots but now back into the fold.

No surprises a happy team is in the top 3. They are blessed to have so much backrow talent and Val Holmes finally back to his best.

I think CC has been lined up for awhile.

Reports of talks with him last year and we would have kept the door ajar during the extended Madge crisis this year.

Close to his home, plenty of players with us he knows quite well and if you look at our roster, we like our used Panthers.

His defensive work is sublime.

He is the best coach available in the nrl by a considerable margin.

He will need to be to strap us up.

But If Noddy gets us playing well, he is entitled
to an interview. I’m looking forward to his tenure.
Gee it's good to read sensible and easy to read/well set out posts like this one @TSP 🙂

I trust Tim.

For all his faults his back like a prodigal son to the club where he had success from nowhere and coached Australia.

Can't think of a better football manager for us. He has the experience, success, credentials and standing in the game to move us forward. 2 recent
good signings to boot. He also can handle the media as we saw with him keeping Kent in his place the other night,.

Would've wanted Madge to be given his fit squad for a few more weeks, he deserved it and felt we culled one of our own because he genuinely cared for our club despite his technical shortcomings.

But seems Sheens decided that longer term he wasn't the fit for us re recruiting and juniors....fair enough let's go from here.

It also gives Madge a chance to get the NZ job which may be a good fit for him.

He took the Sharks to 7th even though he was hampered by the board and injuries.

He done quite well.

Ciraldo first then Morris.
Recruitment wise he couldn't jag anyone. Similar to madge.
That's not saying noddy can but bomber is a champion so who knows.
I think Ciraldo would be able to bring more players to the club.

He did convince his board to get Luci on big bucks?
Meanwhile, new merch has made its way onto the shelves of the wests tigers mobile supporters gear shop, kebab, and donut stand. Now back in action after the health department warning.

Give your own personal nod to Noddy and buy one of these pure new nylon beauties. One size fits all, except for Tedesco.

Inspired by the mighty @Pascoes_barber.

Sorry for the hopeless illustration.
😍 Your illustration @TSP
You and @Cobarcats have got a similar good clean fun with a twinkle in your eye sense of humour.
Cairnstiger also had a great sense of humour, but he hasn't been on here for ages unfortunately.

Common theme here

In Potter we trust
In JT we trust
In Ivan we trust
In Madge we trust

Our record of blind trust is a failed one. I’d rather see some actual evidence the club is turning around. Trust is earned.

If you look at it objectively, Madge was never the right fit. Sure, tried to instill some toughness and resilience, but given his reputation as a hard-nosed defensive coach, it wasn't exactly aligned with the Wests Tigers DNA.

The Wests Tigers DNA is entirely different to Western Suburbs', Balmain's or Michael Maguire's. It's skilful, fast-paced exuberant football, played by mobile forward packs and scintillating outside backs, with a 7 to steer the ship and a 6 given free reign. It's young kids coming through the grades like Robbie Farah, Dene Halatau, Chris Lawrence and Andrew Fifita. The last 11 years we've gone away from that, and as a result look where we are.

With Sheens back and a renewed investment in our Pathways system, we're a lot closer now to where we were in 2011. Sheens lost his mind in the back end of 2012, but he understands how this club ticks. He knows what is required to get us back on track, and that has to do with aligning with our identity. Unfortunately the authoritarian approach adopted by Madge didn't work. Square peg, round hole. It's time we went back to the future.

How can the DNA of a club that's 22 years old be one thing, if we haven't seen that one thing in the past 11 years? Unless a DNA can be created in 2.5 seasons? maybe it can?

The brief period of time that we saw a small, mobile forward pack allow the backs to play expansive is the exception rather then the rule or in its DNA. I would say the DNA of Wests Tigers is they have no identity.

Pathways focus is great but to me it looks like a pipedream that will have very hard to quantify KPI's and will give the power brokers 5 more years of excuses as we wait for " the next young crop of players".
