Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Knights’ moves for Hastings
We’re hearing Newcastle have had discussions about making a play for Jackson Hastings next year.

Hastings’ management share a close relationship with Knights recruitment manager Clint Zammit. The Knights made a play for Luke Brooks last summer, but the halfback wasn’t granted a release from the Tigers.

It will be interesting to see what the new Tigers coach thinks of Hastings. He’s become somewhat of a cult hero among the Tigers fans but, as we know, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

He’s on around $375,000 this year, but that increases to about $500,000 for the final season of his two-year contract.

Smoke screen.

They're after @GNR4LIFE s fav player, Luke Brooks.

Balboy, appreciate your opinion. Its just mine. I’m a fan and wouldn’t be insulted by Luc moving on early so we can pay forward contracts and secure further funds for a marquee.

I actually find your post a little insulting but all good. Fans can have their say and I respect that. Have a good night buddy.
Yes you're certainly entitled to your opinion, it's just that you're opinion is doing the same thing that we've already been doing the past few years which has got us nowhere, whereas I think I different and stronger approach is required. All good, just my opinion

My beef with just giving him away for nothing is it continues to set the walking over attitude our club has been known for.

Matto and Moses left for nothing yet Parra wouldn’t release Stefano a year early.

Josh leaves for nothing

We got Laurie early for Momo

End of the day we shouldn’t be giving up a quality asset for nothing.

We also have a 2nd backrow spot filled by Kelma/Garner who are leaving and could easily be prioritized over moving out best quality backrower onwards. Give a kid 12 weeks beside Lucy would be better than giving them 12 weeks beside Kelma
Exactly

We need a massive roster overhaul. The players we rate as our best are just average first graders who look good in our side.

Unfortunately unless you have kids coming through the ranks we won't have much in a change roster wise. We can only recruit a limited number of external NRL players.

Guess the next few years are going to be real tough for us until we get the "pathways" run of kids coming through consistently

TIGERS COUP

The Wests Tigers have signed NSW Waratahs and Randwick rugby centre Tristan Reilly. He is a 23-year-old from Kempsey who had been earmarked as a future Wallaby. This is a handy signing for whoever gets the Wests Tigers coaching job.”

Anyone see this kid play ?

Interesting

We have so many “ether” players. Players that are in the ether between reserve grade and first grade. Play above reserve grade level but not good enough for first grade. Liddle is the prime example. Kills cup every time he goes back but can’t own a spot in firsts. Seyfarth another example, I could keep going.

Could this be a coincidence ..
Tigers are set to meet with CC this week
Ciraldo maybe already working his magic quietly behind the scenes. (Future signing)
Both Ciraldo and Reilly are originally from Eastern Suburbs
