Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

All the good sides have at least one really large athletic edge running backrowers . They are the players who break games open. Today in the first half we had enough ball at the right end of the field to rack up a score, but we did not have one of these players. I don’t know where we are going to find one, but we are going nowhere till we get one. Okay Paps will help next year, but we need at least one more
You mean lIke Papalii?

The Knights' recruitment is balanced for sure. One second row forward with on-field issues, the other with off-field issues.
Funny that.
You say they have (issues) but they would walk straight into our forward pack week in week out.
Remember every club has players with issues it’s how both parties handle it.

Knights’ moves for Hastings
We’re hearing Newcastle have had discussions about making a play for Jackson Hastings next year.

Hastings’ management share a close relationship with Knights recruitment manager Clint Zammit. The Knights made a play for Luke Brooks last summer, but the halfback wasn’t granted a release from the Tigers.

It will be interesting to see what the new Tigers coach thinks of Hastings. He’s become somewhat of a cult hero among the Tigers fans but, as we know, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

He’s on around $375,000 this year, but that increases to about $500,000 for the final season of his two-year contract.

He's ok. More suited to a ball playing lock then a halfback.

I have issues with halves

At 23 surely if he was any good here be playing for one of the Super Rugby sides, especially given how dire the Aussie clubs are
I remember a player who was playing breakaway for Manly rugby in second grade recruited by WTs. Reilly also played rugby sevens for Australia. Miller from the Sharks also play rugby sevens for Australia. His is 27 and Sheens was reportedly interested in for WTs.

If we are now gearing towards developing players, bringing to grade players from different backgrounds should now be standard fair. From all reports, Ciraldo is very good at developing young players and if this means we can increase our pool of NRL players, I'm all for it.
