Wests Tigers Coaches

Lee has 2 application ready after CC tells us no thanks , let’s face it CC and Clearly will most likely play in Grand final this year and still be top 3 next 2 years min , or. CC. Come hear and be bottom 3 for 3 years then get the bullet as a dud coach cause we then would be a attacking team needs attacking coach not dev coach , Morris and Flanno probably the 2 applications

Sheens said his phone would be running hot, but it’s Lee who has received 2 applications. Did Lee get these applications from the great man? Or is Lee telling us that it was he who sacked Madge?

If Tigers are a basket-case, I don't know what kind of storage apparatus Bulldogs are, but I agree it's bigger and worse.

Dogs are making all the older Tigers mistakes - rash signings, lack of pathways investment, lack of junior development, poorly-credentialed coaches.

I think there is a general consensus that whilst Tigers are still not able to make a dent on the finals race, the club has at least become stable and viable off-field, with an increasing number of positive investments that could be expected to pay off in the future - e.g. the CoE, the heavy investment in pathways, the increased Football Ops spending. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for the right person to guide the players.

For Bulldogs - I have no idea, they are just stumbling from error to error. They are probably 3-4 years behind us at least. I don't know if Bulldogs have even settled their Board split issues, where Lynn Anderson won the ticket a few years ago to take control of the old Board, then she herself was forced to step down in 2020.
You make some good points Jirsky. An Eels supporter questioned me yesterday why CC would want to come to a basket case of a club such as ours. At first I wanted to remind him of our win over the Eels, but then reminded myself they will probably put 40 on us next time we meet. Anyway, it forced me to think of why would he come? I replied with pretty much the positives you mentioned and added Sheens would be walking alongside CC.

basketball? head knocks?

Ok that explains Dennis Rodman.

Honestly though, we need to tone it right down. Players are becoming monsters in size and when you have an 84kg run into a 105kg prop.
Yep even bball and netball! Collisions happen in most sports.

Long term effects of head injuries are usually caused by either constant head knocks as in boxing or playing on whilst concussed which is a no no.
The later is addressed all the time with players going off the field to be assessed and the former also as you see players like Cordner being medically retired.
These protocols have spread throughout a lot of sports mainly because organisations fear being sued.
As far as size is concerned, a weight for age div in junior league is a no brainer, excuse the pun.
That's one of the reasons you have weight divs in boxing.
Imagine Tyson punching Kambosis, ouch!

Seriously as if this squad, effort and structures which are all terrible would change in half a week. This performance today showed exactly why Madge is gone. We are a complete rabble with his squad.

Whoever becomes the new coach is going to have an ordinary 12-18mths with us as the squad gets worse next year & they get the joy of being stuck with Nofa & Musgrove for another few years. Lucky them.
MT, I'm sure nobody was expecting a total transformation of the side after only a week.
BUT . . . nothing changed. Absolutely nothing has changed. Except for even worse discipline.
5 one out hitups and a midfield bomb.
We can't expect them to have come out and put on razzle dazzle that we've never seen before . . . BUT there should have been identifiable improvements. They are first grade players, ffs. Why do they need 6 months to remove "poorly coached tactics" from their heads ?
This effort didn't show why Madge is gone, this effort showed the real reason we are like this.
It's either the coach or the players.
You removed the coach, yet the result is identical.
The players are the same, and the result is identical. Do the sums.
While of course a new coach can't transform a team completely in a week . . . there certainly are parts that can be immediately improved. These are NRL players. How hard is it to change the way they do one or 2 little things during 2 training sessions ?
It's not like we are trying to mould C Grade park players into NRL stars.
As an example . . . . if you were a qualified chef and I had only 3 hours to teach you how to make my magnificent 50 step lasagne . . . I'd hope that you would be able to get large parts of the process down pat in 3 hours.
If you had zero kitchen experience, then you ain't understanding much.

"Whoever becomes the new coach is going to have an ordinary 12-18mths with us as the squad gets worse next year & they get the joy of being stuck with Nofa & Musgrove for another few years. " . . . . as for this comment, I thought most of us were saying that this year was going to be ordinary, and next had some promise ?
Anyway, it's the players more so than the coach.
Yesterday's efforts will be repeated time and time again, and sooner or later everyone will realise that it wasn't Madge. Or Mick. Or Noddy. Or the next poor bastard.
It's the players and their attitude.

Agreed. It's not the poisoned chalice it used to be. I think it's actually a good option for an inexperienced coach because we have been that bad for so long that if the coach fails it will be attributed to the club, not the coaches ability, giving them a bit of a free pass so to speak.
