Wests Tigers Coaches

Sheens made it very clear on in his interview on Fox 360, the day of the sacking, that Madge had full control of the team and major input on all decisions regarding recruitment.
He was very pissed when the panel tried to insinuate otherwise.
Irrelevant to my argument.

Yet no shortage of coaches wanting the gig. What does that tell you?

It could say alot of things

1) they want to be a NRL coach
2) pathways could be a real thing
3) Salary cap to spend & majority of the roster open =flexibility to do what they want
4) They get paid for 5yrs but only work 3 or 4
5) they want a bucket of KFC each week
6) they want to learn how to wear a Fedora

The best attraction for a new coach signing up with the Wests Tigers is they get an extra month off a year for holidays.
He’ll I for the life of me can’t see why the players aren’t lining up to sign here for that same benefit.

I'm happy to be proven wrong but,
I'm still not convinced that they don't provide protection against concussion.

Wouldn't this be like saying that bumper guards on cars don't offer much protection?

Bumpers absorb impact in a collision, protecting and greatly improving the safety of the driver and the cars components

Headgears also absorb the impact of collision which surely must reduce the risk of concussion.
You're not wrong, but I think the difference is widely assumed to be negligible.

Same way that a bumper bar may absorb 2% of the impact force, but in a 100km/hr head on, that counts for 2/5ths of f.a.

That wasn't what you implied? Doesn't really matter though the whole top 30 is full of pea hearts let's hope Ciraldo or Morris want the job but alot of heads need to roll from players to the high up suits club loves a good finger point.
I’m not above having my opinion changed

Bit different these days - thankfully!

'Bumper bars' (and the panel mounting frames/structures/skins aka 'crumple zones') are sacrificial - they are designed to deform/crumple/fold in very specific ways upon impact so as to limit severity to occupants as part of a system including the airbags, seats, seat belts and seat belt pre-tensioners: the goal is to keep the occupant area/cabin as intact as possible and the occupants held tightly in place while all of this is happening (seat belt pre-tensioners use an explosive charge similar to an airbag to rapidly tension the belt when deployed to tightly secure the occupant to the seat - Always wear them (seat-belts) properly, folks.

Not quite like headgear at all. Your head slams into the ground awkwardly/uncontrolled out of a tackle you are getting a concussion, headgear or no. There's no belt, airbag or tensioner stopping your brain from slamming around inside your skull, just a bit of fluid.

What does that even mean? Wasn't criticising your opinion just pointing out that your post was infactual. You implied Lee wouldn't have received 2 resumes which is horse shit and you know it. You were just trying to stir the pot.

Yes, that's my point. A full crumple zone to mitigate force as in modern cars isn't an option on your noggin, so it's more akin to the old bumper bars which may absorb a negligible amount of the force.

A premiership winner couldn't. Ciraldo has proven nothing. He's been a caretaker coach for half a dozen games in the NRL.

Just because he's at Penrith is no barometer of his ability. He has done no real apprenticeship by going to England.

At least names like Woolf have proven something in England.
So has Justin Holbrook though and yet the Titans are languishing down the shallow end of the pool like us.

Any coach is a risk. The problem with CC is that there is all this media and other beat up stating that he is the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The idea of giving him 5 years on top dollars is hilarious but it might work. It's probably much less likely to work than giving Madge or any other proven coach 5 years.

The difference between though when Madge took over and whoever gets the job now is that Madge hasn't screwed us over with the cap.

I reckon the Tigers coaching job is a awesome one to walk into.

Only problem been , I think we will have somewhere between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000 to spent if we get rid of 3-4 more players , but we can’t nail anyone down , and we refuse to pay overs even for rep players in there prime , so what’s the point having a war chest that is locked better than from trying Knox
