But I remember the year we got tapau and gavet , and no one knew who they were outside of a few dogs guys. .

My point is , there’s players out there like Luciano in 20 if we are honest who can take the leap , and are under valued at thier club .

I agree with an earlier poster that something is building. It may be our new coach has players who will strengthen our roster. If so, moving a player on who doesn't want to be here and is gone next year is a positive.

Pascoe will probably earn us another cap penalty because we haven’t spent enough this year.

He made up his mind to leave not long after Paps was signed and it was rumoured that he didn’t appreciate the deal he was on v paps.

I think he has had some great games this year, especially at the start, but when the Madge miracle didn’t eventuate, he seemed out of sorts.

It’s no secret that NQ have been after him for many weeks, if not months.

Obviously a deal was struck that was considered fair all round.

To hang onto him in the circumstances, would have just led to more unrest in the camp.

Instead we add another chunk of cash for the new coaches warchest. That’s a unexpected bonus. No point him hanging about for the balance of the dead wood year.

I am not sure if it figures but his mum is gravely Ill and he’s been far from our worst in his short tenure.

I think the players will miss him, that would be the downside.

Pretty sure Payten offered him at the start of the year.

Yeah ….. that one just don’t make any sense.
As far as I heard he was offered and we rejected it. Our counter offer was a swap for Loki or Nanai but both opted to sign extensions and stay with the cowboys.

We already have cap space up to our eyeballs - whatever pittance this frees up isn't going to shift the needle. We don't even have a coach with which to sign players at the moment.
I'd say it sets a bad precedent, but it's already been well established that anyone can just walk out on a contract with the WT if they just simply ask.
Looking forward to giving Penrith and Manly's edge forwards for 2023 more mins for the rest of the season too.

Sheens said from day one the first year you assess, the second year you make the necessary changes. I suggest he has speed up that process with some decisions lately. He is making the right moves and we will be better for it.

For once the Tigers have woken up form this charade of competing. We haven’t been close for years. Any player that signs elsewhere release them upgrade kids and players that are part of the future and tank.
It will put us in a better position for next year. Rinse and repeat for another season.

We are stuck until 2024 by then hopefully a few recruits and younger players have some experience.
